Thread: New Xp earning ideas Baciacca please read..
What the hell was you killing i am talking about a novice paddie with NO skilll boxes including novices...
Also the top end cap was a little bit closer to 1200 but i was speaking roughly, i remember going for novice ls and it taking about 8 hrs to get at 100 - 150 a kill it may have been more like 200 but i am sure it was lower..

Right i posted this on the corbantis forums but felt it should also be read here and that hopefully baciacca would read this and consider it..
Please don't flame this post just for the reason to flame...
Right i will start off by saying that the rate that a low lvl Paddie or any other prof can gain xp is well out of control,
BUT i also think that the most recent attempt to fix this by the devs was a bad mistake..
What i suggest is that the system sort of reverts a little to pre-cu where all xp is worked out on your currentskill pointswithin the profession you are grinding..
For instance a paddie with no skills or boxes earns say 100xp per kill (simular to pre cu) and a full template or high lvl jedi would earn max 1k xpper kill, but this works for all profs like a tkm will earn a fraction on how much sp he has in that current prof so a novice TKA would earn a lower rate than a TKM.
I feel that this kind of change would do 2 things make Jedi worth while again and not so easy to obtain, also make mastering a profession something that is worthy and that is a acheivement..
Also i feel that the current way that everyone gets full xp should stay when grouped but is reduced depending on your current level so that the amount of sp spent within that current proffesionis a personal cap, meaning thatyou earn more xp the higher you go..
Also my second idea is that when you learn a skill box and if you ever surrender that skill it will take HALF the xp tore learnit, i feel this will make regrinding templates more fair and less fustrating for a full template of any profession and make changing and experimenting new templates less daunting...
Just some ideas on what i think could make a change and make life a little better all round let me know your thoughts..
IGN Dagis
two things.
first, i believe the xp system is already set-up like you want it to be, except rather than be tied to the number of SP's invested into Jedi skills like Pre-CU, the xp rate is tied to your CL. I am not entirely sure on this, as I've never been low level after the CU - Jedi has always been level 70+ between dropping regular skills and picking up Jedi skills and alt has always been 80 post-CU. However, I have noticed that low level guildies are getting a lot less xp per kill than level 80 characters for killing the same creature during our grinding sessions. Right now it looks like Jedi are just getting something like 1/5 of the xp per kill that each other character class is getting for a kill based upon character level. It would probably take a decent amount of time for the devs to change the system again for the jedi to have their own xp system.
that being said, i don't think its a bad idea, but rather i don't think it will have that much of an impact. i really don't know what you were killing pre-cu, but when i unlocked, I took my TKM/Master Swords (could still defense stack between professions) and went out with my noob saber to kill savage quenkers. It took me 40-60 quenkers to get the 20k xp i needed to get novice sabers....hence 350-500 xp per kill. it sure felt like nothing after getting 5k per kill when i was swinging my PH at huurton stalkers a few days beforehand, but it wasn't 100 xp per kill. additionally, once i had all the novice boxes (only 100k xp) and then 0020 LS (54 Jedi SP's invested), I was pulling in around 750-800 xp per kill. By the time I was 0044 LS/0002 Enhance, I was pulling 1k per kill off grassland voritors and rancors. the proposed change would only affect grinders for a very brief period of time.
The system is set up like that but with one downfall all it takes is one lvl 80 and your all lvl 80.. So you all get FULL XP..
I don't see the change been that drastic but it also it will slow down the progression that little bit to justify the regrinding idea.
Yea i actually agree, but i was killing low lvl mobs the only ones i could kill with a training saber and solo there was no chance with before novice box i could kill a quencher they just ate me right up and i had awsome stims and medic skills that could heal well...
But yes when i got to ls 0044 it started to move a lot faster but this did take me about 3 months to get there that was the hardest part of the jedi grind that i did...
But my ideas are also aimed at changing of templates, so as a full template profession could easier change templates and not have to worry about the extra grinding so much, i feel that the little given would justify the ability to regrind at a faster pace..
Just my thoughts but i feel esp as a jedi that why should i have to REGRIND to relearn a ability that i learned a long time ago and dropped just to try something new...

To be honest i disagreei remember the first time i grinded out TKM from novice brawler and it took me about 3 months but when i finished it i felt a little of self pride, also look at WOW to get to lvl 60 doesn't take a week it takes about 3 - 5 months depending on your play style, so why should SWG be different in that fact??
is that your repsonse to my comment?
