I was just curious when thinking back on it, was there ever a pattern to the Holo grind?

Meaning like what each profession your holocron told you, would it lead up to another profession that you had to guess at to unlock? Was there ever a pattern that you could guess correctly?

Nope. It could not be predicted, though many theories were produced, none really panned out.

And truly the hologrind was the best way to get jedi, nto this help a village bull shi*. This is the most moronic money making scheme they have come up with. Holo grind was acutally fun, and mysterious. Im not sure what the story line was but it made people master professions, which was good, instead of hours of EXP grind. I am a jedi, Village jedi. And i liked the holo days i personally spit on this idea.

/agree

It seemed new theories were put forth on the forums all the time, but none proved reliable. The only guaranteed method was to grind through as many professions as possible before Publish 9.

The holo grind was a joke most professions could be mastered in a few hours if you knew what to do, the village is a more realistic way to get your jedi

holo grind was just grind out every profession till you find your un lock which was supposed to be, 4 professions were told to you by the holo gods, and the finial 5th holo was silent, whoo such mystery.

the village is timed, its quest driven, ill say some quests need to be more challengling, and then you have your long grind outof the xp and that long trip back to the village to cash in. It is by no means a eazy way to attain your FS urberness. The biggest plus for the vilage must be that it takes into account all the players in the game not just the jedi wanna bs.

imo

With the Hologrind you learned how to play each profession at least for a while, more importantly you also learned how to defend youself from many other professions by knowing their strenghts and weakness. In my opinion the Hologrind was the best learning experience in the game, a Jedi knew the weakness of his opponet because he was once his opponet. I mastered 23 professions but finished in the Village. The Village was dull, pointless, and lame attempt atadding content to the system. The running back to the Village when you capped on XP sucked major.

The hologrind was not fun by any stretch of the imagination, unless you consider cantinas and players "hanging about" disappearing overnight as "fun". No one actually cared for their professions once it was announced that Holos was the path to Jedi, they'd just be farming the Dark Jedi Enclave looking for them, or away somewhere grinding to death.

The gated Village is an improvement, but its still too formulaic.

The path to FSCS should in my opinion be a random set of badges, including profession masteries, POIs and even the more esoteric ones. That way at least there would be no exact path or pattern for anyone (as per the Hologrind), but getting Jedi would involve at the very least exploration of what the game offers besides mind-numbingly boring grinding to convert XP at the Village.

Just to reply to Fusefinder's post - the whole idea that people learnt about the profession and how it interacted with others is complete rubbish. Anyone who was focused on grinding Holo professions for Jedi had NO CLUE about whichever profession they were grinding for the most part. They just bought a stack load of grinding materials and set to work making millions of Ubese shirts endlessly. Hell, I was a Master Armorsmith briefly during the Hologrind as it was one of my professions and I didn't even know how to make Composite, let alone what materials were required to make it and the importance of each material attribute, etc.

Same with MCM - I got it, and dropped it seconds afterwards. Didn't know how to craft stuff for it, didn't need to know - I just needed the title to carry on the grind. Everyone else was the same.

The hologrind was idiotic. Grinding is NOT content. If the holos did anything they should have opened quests that actually revealed aspects of the force and some time gated process of adventure and discovery. Perhaps something that might even have been..... GASP....FUN!

The hologrind as a way to become a Jedi without a fully fleshed out idea of what a Jedi was suppose to be in the game was uninspired. Too much time and energy was spent on this while the GCW, battlegrounds, and combat / artisan classes floundered and many, many very good, creative, dedicated players bailed out of the game.

I must play devils advocate here

You say grinding is not content. I agree with that. However, isn't the village just a bunch of grinding too? The only difference is you don't have to change professions every other day.

To be honest, I felt the hologrind was better at stopping people from being Jedi. For many, it would be harder to accumulate the credits/resources to master some professions than it would be to mind numbingly grind out their weapons/combat xp a million times. I personally stopped trying at around profession 13 and opted to wait for the village. The village was much easier because I didn't have to butcher my template anymore.

Edit: typos

Yeah more mystery then Hours of grinding, your telling me you like that? If so.... well good luck i guess. I personally hated the village grind. get exp and then turn it into jedi exp, to me thats horse Sh**. Holo grinds, were mastering professions. Which in turn was gaining knowledge. And for light jedi any way thats what a jedi is, he gain knowledge to better him self and others. Now the village is ok story wise but the exp gain is bull. And Darkside jedi, which i am not, have to help, i repeat help, not destroy not kill. Which is the dark jedi way. And Holo gridning was not that easy, and if it was to you, they could have made it harder. This way is too much fo the shame thing over and over and over and over, and did i mention over again

But ur entitled to your opinion. Now even though they changed it they could have come up with some different, you know as well as i do that this was for money and nothing else.

Thank you, Like i said Mystery. Not hours of grinding, and a guide to go with it telling you step by step what to do. Thank you for agreeing that it was mystery.

OMG WTH! What are you smoking? Apparently you never did the hologrind because this line alone shows your ignorance. Lol I grinded a bunch of crafting profs and kept the mastery for all of 2 seconds, ask me anything about making a droid now and I'm sure I know the answer /rollseyes. Lol you did the friggin village and unlocked so stop trying to answer questions about things you don't know.
