This is an unfortunate shortcoming of the current tuning system. This was an issue on our old Top 5 list and will remain on the new one.

Under the current system I think it's working as intended. It should be a considerable effort to get the best sabers, especially since we jedi don't have that much else to burn money on.
However after the CB, when elders/krayts are unsoloable, it will be a *lot* worse since peoplemost likely won't be able to solo farm these. Then I hope the tuning algorithms are tightened up a bit.
Actually it is not working as intended. True, the system is making the effort to get the best sabers very difficult (don't mind that) BUT the point of this new tuning system was to make crystals and pearls go down in price. The plan was to have crystals/pearls with no stats and random tuning so the prices drop from 4-5 million per to a more reasonable amount.
It failed. All you have to do is look at the trade forums and find crystals/pearls go for 4-5 million....only difference now is you don't know what you aregetting but you're still paying outrageous prices for it. I would take the old method over this new tuning crap anyday......at least I know my 4 million would go to a useable crystal and not something that comes out to0 FC (that was a preme by the way)

No. The major problem with the old system was that getting even a bad saber could be difficult. Back then we saw stories about jedi that had to stop levelling because they simply couldn't get crystals/pearls. Now, getting bad crystals is quite easy, and we have the option to use a lower generation lightsaber to reduce force cost.
Getting an uber saber is still quite difficult. If you assume that you need to tune maybe 4 or 5 premiums to get one decent tune (-9 40+ damage) we're talking 16-20 premiums to get a good saber, at a cost of 50-100 mil depending on you server's economy.
That is challenging but not unrealistically difficult. It's harder for non jedi to get legendary weapons with extremely good stats. While it's annoying that jedi can't get premiums on their own while non jedi can, the CB will probably make it impossible for non jedi too, to solo these things. At that point premiums should perhaps tune a little better since supply will be cut down drastically.
