I was just wondering if there was a counter to this tactic:

CM walks up to you, mezz's you, then applies all their stuff like fire, poison, disease, snare, etc...

At this point they start firing on you with an uber rifle=Instant death.

What tactic do you all have to offer for this technique?

I, for one, feel they shouldnt be able to apply anything to you while mezzed. It should break on not only damage, but also any states or offensive moves done by the other player. Thoughts?

Best way to accept thisand stop fighting and accept the xp your going to lose.

Then its going to be fast over and you can grind in peace again for a few.

As soon as a bh/cm runs up to me and paralyzes I just eat all my PvP food and wait if I never noticed him coming. Not too much ya can do.

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, 'How can we do this and not make another EQ?' We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen." - Julio Torres

snare/run, root/run.....

Best tactic.... let the BH run his buffs out and allow you to get a bit further away from him

Heh.. the old /prone and /clone stratagy?

Well as an md jedi on one character, and a cm/bh on the other I might be able to give you some ideas.

1) If the bh applies a dot.. you win! The dot will prevent him from applying paralize till the dot is over.
2) If the bh doesn't apply a dot, expect a long hard fight if you are full template since when you get in melee range he will probably apply paralize again and move away.

Your best bet is to snare and root him as soon as paralize breaks, turn on force run and book it towards him. Most jedi don't realize that burstrun is faster than force run 1, so use it when you can.

For the cases where you just can't get into melee range get 2 weapons. An advanced laser rifle with as high a damage you can find and blast away at a bh without recon armor (most cm/bh). An ld-1, or a Fallon Hyper rifle and get it sliced for damage for recon armor wearing bh.

Of course this assumes you don't have cloak.
Now if you are a low lev grinding jedi.. well you are screwed across the board since you won't have enough jedi abilities to defend yourself, and not enough regular skills to compete. Many grinding jedi i know get cloak even though they arn't planning on keeping it in their final template so as to avoid 90% of all bh out there.

if they use a headshot cooldown bypassmacro, well, you can still report them for exploiting game mechanics... you cant defeat a capable mcm with good equipment, a nice rifle and such a speed macro.

when the dots start ticking, root them and run out of range while the dots tick...

And yes, if you have no root, then you're kinda screwed. Mezzes were a stupid implementation and are necessary to have....sadly...

I kept being told to watch the mind bars and buff timers on the CM/BH, and I think that is spot-on.

Their mind will eventually decline. You just have to live long enough for that to happen.

The foods and buffs will expire for them...you just might have to wait twenty minutes.

I like to run away, taking out their swoops as they chase me, all the time watching the timer on the buffs.

Once the food starts to run low, I go all out against them. They will still be fine...but now their mind bar will be a major factor as they heal. That mind bar slowly declines then I try to finish them off.

Doesn't always work...but it is something you can try.

Please note that I did not mention the words 'exploit' or call for any nerfs to anyone in this post.

I have heard that running into water cures the dots.

paralyze is supposed to break with damage taken, so applying dots after the payalyze should break it.

I haven't been able to try this yet, but I am thinking that you might beable to break it by damaging your self, i.e. channel. Hit channel once and it damages your ham, but this is all speculation, anyone confirm or disprove this?

i am mbh/mcm

i found, this weekend, only 3 out of 16 jedi could kill me. i took powers jedi, mls/mdef jedi, an entire range of templates.

the ONLY ones who beat me had pre-cu no action sabers w/ some very nice pearls in them.

otherwise, between traumatize, drain and dots...they run out of mind.

not force, mind. and usually in 3-5 minutes.
