I could be over-reacting... but it says, "the ability to find a fiery red crystal found only on the volcanic planet that creates a lava-like lightsaber for the lucky owner".

I'd be very happy to learn that it is JUST color and no other visual effects.

However, the image in my mind is of some kind of lightsaber with flames and a lava-like blade ("Lava-like" doesn't really lean towards a color... maybe multiple colors).

If it's anything close to what I keep picturing (Every time anyone mentions this expansion)... I don't know, that's just too ridiculous.

If it is a lava-blade saber... then I'm saying they can act now and prevent themselves from making such a bad move. Once it's done, it's done.

If it's not, please let us know, because I'm not the only person that finds this utterly rediculous... and we'd be pleased to hear that we were wrong.

SOE, if you put some kind of Lava/Fire Saber into the game, you'll likely never be able to pull it out (In that glorious future, when you desire to fix this game up and give it the Star Wars Integrity that it deserves) without an outrage from the players that you would be taking them away from...

So, right now (And any time before the release of the New Expansion) you have the ability to prevent such a ridiculous item from being implimented into this game.


Star Wars has enough cool things of it's own... there is no reason to add a lava-like lightsaber.


If this new saber is nothing like a lava-saber... then please tell us what it is, because right now, this sounds like a BAD April Fool's Day joke several months off.


Change this idea before it goes into the game.

Save a little face, keep some integrity and spare us from having to witness such a butcher-job on something so legendary.

Is a lava-saber just a plain red lightsaber? Or a red crystal, rather, that you put into your own lightsaber?

what id like to see is them release ALL the named crystals in this patch so we dont end up with the FOTM saber colours,which is exactly what happens right now,they release a colour and everyone wants it so everyone,light and dark jedi alike are running around with the same colour of saber,which destroys a jedi's individualism

I say no to lava sabers, for obvious reasons, but they don't care anyway, so why bother.

Reason I don't like it, is because it will probably be something like Sunriders destiny (which I have and use even though I want to use blue) or Banes in which it will add more power forcing us to use it.

The In-Concept forum is already giving information about future expansions, and what the Jedi can expect (no news on the FRS, tho).

For example, the expansion after ToW has yet to be named, but it does add the mystical planet of Barbershoppa to the SWG hyperspace routes. If you travel there and complete the 50+ quest missions, you may receive a special crystal that gives your lightsaber multiple colors! Early reports are that your saber will have red, white, and blue stripes spiraling up your lightsaber blade. This new crystalwill include a new lightsaber damage type as well - there will be no resistance to the new damage, but the drawback is that it will only cut hair. I hear Thunderheart is particularly excited about this expansion.
