Still there, or removed as well?

--- Cancelled 24th November 2006
Reason: The lack of multiplayer pve content and Star Wars feel.
For 3 years I have tried to find excuses to stay in game but only the expansions offered me what I subscribed for in the first place: A multiplayer Star Wars pve experience with friends around the globe. I found friends but with almost no addition of pve content they dropped out one by one. Now it's my turn.

ForceRun gets dumped due to +SNARE+ and prevents activation including BurstRun.

Heh...someone was just talking about you in the BETA threads about how they needed to leak you some info to get some attention drawn to it.

Force Run doesn't get turned off when you are snared. It just no longer makes you go any faster. I don't know if the TN from it is still active when snared. Never tested that.

What I really want to test is Electrolyte Drain. If that move, which can be stuck on the enemy for the whole fight, negates force run, it will be grossly overpowered.

everyone is gonna use snare over and over so why not get rid of it all together and jsut make everyone slow?

Why does SOE continue to do stupid things like this... didn't we have a problem with a skill known as WARCRY prior to CU that they could never get to work right?

As it is now... Snare works as intended. It was said before CU that every skill has a counter skill. Forcerun is the counter to Snare. You have to spend some decent skill points in your template to overcome that skill... and it usually leaves you vulnerable in other areas of attacks (like curing disease / poison / fire).

But BH's cry and cry about it... and now look what is going to happen. If it goes in the way it is currently on Beta... it'll be the straw that broke the camels back. Too many other online games coming down the pike for me to continue putting up with SOE's bull.

Problem is... they won't confirm this change until everyone has purchased the expansion... so do I cancel or not? I'm thinking I'm going to cancel... and just give up the skiff if the change doesn't go in.

nil, to answer your question the best I can, any time I got snared it was on pretty even ground.. However walking is walking, pretty much no matter what type of terrain your on.. There was a slight incline once, but going up it was at basic walking speed, same speed I was on even ground

Great reason I ask is ofcourse that if ForceRun's terrain negotiation dies, we will be slower than Bounty Hunters up/down hills as well.

Maybe ranged snares should have a shorter range? I've never understood why ranged have snares - My alt is a pikeman, and against a good ranged player (with CM ofc) I can't hit him more than twice before he's out of range and I'm standing still.

Snares will completely remove FR/BR, and therefor just let us run at our normal ter.neg rate.. that even withter.neg BE clothes is really slow.

Fighting near hills, will give the BH a huge advantage due to scout 4000...
