Thread: CIVIL Discussion about a New FSCS system

First.....THERE IS NO INFO AT ALL about what the new system might be, or when it might come.

That said, I thought I would like to make a list of roughly what the Jedi and non-Jedi hopefulls would need in such a system in order for us to be satisfied.

this is 100% off the top of my head I have zero information from anyone, it is purely a discussion thread

1. It goes without saying, butanyone that unlocked their slot would of course retain their Jedi and their progress

2. The new method needs to be just as difficult and time consuming to keep the population down, and retain the thrill of becoming a Jedi

3. Anyone who is in the middle of their holocron professions, especially those whose holocron is silent need to be either placed along the new path at an equal point or if that's not possible or undesirable they may finish the traditional holcron method.

Anything else to add to this? There's a heck of a lot of uproar right now over this (not to mention PM's about it sorry I won't answer them I have no information). So I figure we can at least organize our thoughts in this thread.

My question is this: What will happen to the Holocrons after the patch?

This is going to be a very tough issue. Will the system be kept a secret like the previous profession mastering system? Or is it going to be known publicly straight up from the begining? Imo they need to do this to keep the Jedi population down, but it will need to be kept a secret for that to work, cant wait to see what is conjured up.

Those who have done a significant number of Holocrons past their silent one need to have that recognized. A person whose 4 profession mastered resulted in a silent holocron is not equal to a person who has done 12 professions post-silent.

I agree, I did 14 professions past my silent, however that is random and just luck as far as I know, and we don't know if its measureable so I'm not sure if that can be differentiated.

Personaly I'll be happy with almost any system where I actualy have to pay atention. its so dull runing through a grind that a trained monkey could do. The bigest mistake they could make however is for it to be based on a random drop/spawn that people will camp the daylights out of.

I am very hopeful it will be like the Epic Quest in EQ... maybe with some alterations... but similar...

I for one am very glad to see this change... now the holo grinding may stop... and people might actually start playing the game again...

I am currently on my 11th profession post-silent, 17th overall.

If the recognition I am to recieve does not involve revealing my silent profession, to let me have to still go all the way though mastering it, or placing me on the last leg of any quest system, with a waypoint to my quest objective, this game gets deleted.

I personally think that the reward might be something like if you completed 2 or more holocrons you will be able to continue holocrons until you unlock your slot or they will be awarded a badge and set 2/5 or 3/5 of the way through the quests. But as stated this all speculation.

**edit** did RyunosukeKnT's post get one star? It's a very valid question. What will happen to existing unused holocrons? Will they direct us to some NPC we need to seek out or something? Will they provide the quest itself? Or will they simply not work?

Read the main post where I say I have no information about it, especially details like what you are asking.

I agree with what you have listed here...

I'm espically worried about being placed on the Right step. My holo's are now silent and I don't know if I'll hit my 5th one by the time they start the new system. If for example there are 5 steps to the new system however, I had better be placed on the path to the 5th step. The way they stated, "recoginition" of our efforts, does not sound all that reasuring.

Timing is also important here, we need to know if the current system is still in place, when the new system will be in place and when it is, will people still be able to use the old system if they choose?

I might be mistaken, but it seems to me like what information I've seen (the announcement on the main page) speaks only of the Jedi system and not the actual unlocking of the FSS. My read is that they're going to replace, or mostly replace, the combat xp type system to gain jedi skills with quests and such. I think they're just talking of a revamp of the Jedi profession itself. My take on it, anyway.
