Thread: My new FRS, and idea for Jedi population control

Well i dont quite know how the old FRS worked, but the system i was describing would be similar to the BH terminals, where you can't gank squad any one jedi. I know some BHs figured out a way..but in the system i am propising, it would be sheer luck if more than 1 jedi had your misison and came after you.
It would work like the BH terminals, where it would show all online jedi...or actually...maybe it would show offline jedi too...so this way the constant active playing jedi aren't peanilized for being terminated and hunted JUST becuase they are the only ones on at the given time to hunt. So actually it would work like the BH terminals now, where you cna't gank squad someone...but the terminals would show ALL jedi of the opposing faction (offline or not) and it would be up to you to hunt them. Maybe even make it so that once someone took your mission it came off the terminals for good until they passed or failed that mission. And it would dissolve after 3 days again. (to prevent players friends from holding misisons), but also allow for the ability to not get ganked again.
Perma-death should stay in it's current status (permanentely dead). Vote for Blow Glowy, ftw.

My Force Rank System
Here are some of my ideas for what the new FRS shoudl be like.
The Knight Trials. Jedi become padawans and remain covert. They then do the Knight Trials and obtain the rank of Knight. (like the old system)
The Reinstatement of "Perma-Death". Jedi Knights are permenantly OVERT. They can be attacked by oposing faction members at any time, and when killed, automatically become over again after 5 minutes. They will not have to go to a recruiter, they will clone covert, and become overt again in 5 min. Knights dieing to other knights or players that are overt does NOT warrant permadeath. Perma-death applies when another Jedi Knight takes a mission on an Opposing Faction Jedi Knight. Every Jedi Knight will then get 3 deaths vs these opposiing faction Knights that take their mission from a designated terminal (that of course only knights can access). Therefore Knights dieing from random overt opposing faction jedi will not have a death count against them. Deaths from a BH will also NOT count as a perma-death count. Only other Jedi Knights can take their "death rights" from them. And Jedi can die with honor knowing another knight had bested them, not some BH that ganked them for the 3rd time.
This would also enhance the feel of seeing other Jedi Knights in the game. It would be like the movies then, when Obi and Qui'gon are suprised to meet Darth Maul who has hunted them all the way to the Naboo Spaceport and are now about to do battle for keeps.
Perma-death adornments This is debatable, i have 2 possible ideas for this.
#1. The Jedi who gets the LAST of the 3 kills on a given jedi will get an adorn saying something like "...has slain the might Jedi Knight/Master (or Dark Jedi Knight/Master) Kryptis Soulcaster in battle." This would definately give a sense of achievement and uniqueness to the game as well as my permadeath system.
#2. The Jedi who gets any of the 3 kills (required to perma-death another character) will get the adorn stated above. This will make player killing adorns less rare as the 1st option, but will still give credit to the player who bested the other knight. As they deserve it.
I've said in many posts that i really dont think "perma-death" should be implimented into the game, because i dont think a jedi who worked so long, so hard and paid RL cash for so long...should get their character deleted JUST because they died 3 times. But under this system that i am supporting, i would actually not mind losing my character over.
Maybe its just me, and maybe i like to roleplay a tiny bit...but i wouldn't mind losing my character to fighting in a great 1 on 1 battle against another Light Side Jedi Knight.
I think the game needs something like this for a few reasons:
1. It controls the Jedi population a little bit. (you obviously DONT HAVE to do the Knight trials if you dont want to, and can remain padawan the whole tiem if you dont want to risk losing your character).
2. It would enhance PvP, when u met up with another Knight who you discovered was hunting you. and you prepare to do battle..possibly for the last time....
3. It would bring about a sense of achievment and respect for those players who have survived combat for so long, and have collected a few badges of all the Knights that have fallen to their hands...
Perhaps i might even suggest that once you pass the rank of KNIGHT and get to MASTER, that you can still be hunted from the "Knight Terminal", however you will NEVER lose your character if you die to another Jedi Knight. INSTEAD, only another MASTER Jedi can kill you (under the same rules as the Knight perma-death system i said above).
...or perhaps change it all together so that if you reach Master, you can never lose your character EVER. Kind of as a safety zone and a sense of accomplishment, that you lasted and survived for so long.
First thread that I read that had a solution for the FRS and Jedi population control....
Just what I thought, perma-death.... yay.... I agree with others here, perma-death should remain dead.
Well how do u guys propose fixing the over population of jedi? I dont mean to turn this into a "ban all new jedi" thread...because as some of you know im a 1-week old jedi. However, even well before *I* Jedi'ed there was an over abundance of jedi, and at this rate, say in another year, its only going to turn into KOTOR Online.
Soooo without removing Jedi characters, what do you propose for a solution? I think this is a great way to lose your character..to die to another great player in 1 on 1 combat. And i have limited the ways in which you can die as best i could...

Furthermore, as someone said above: (if this permadeath system came back...) "I know a lot of jedi that would cancel their accounts if permadeath came back"
Well...then my idea works, it would control the population of the jedi, by having these players quit ![]()
And personally, anyone who would cancel their account just because perma-death is back instated is kind of stupid. Why would u cancel your account just becasue that came back? Whats the logic? Wouldn't you rather just play until you died, and then just stop playing? I mean if you cancel ur account its like ur characters dead anyway...so i dont get it.
