If everyone would stop freakin out and fillin their tanks for no reason we would be fine. We are causing demand to go up and supply to go down by everyone freakin out. Everyone calm down...............take a breath......................ahhh...that's better. We all need to only get gas if we need it. If u have a half tank fine.dont freak out and fill it up because your scared there will be no more..its this kind of thinking and unrational actions that will be our demise.

you guys in the states still have the cheapest prices for fuel in theweatern world...- over here in the UK prices per liter are 2.5 times higher than what you pay due to taxes on fuel

Very true, but if I recall you can't drive a huge SUV that gets 1/2 mile to the gallon over their, either

im sure you could... but it would cost you alot - and would get higher road tax (something we pay per year to useour cars rather than tolls) that a small efficient car. In the US its much more common to see only one personin acarthat can take 7 than it is over here...

I wonder how well guarded the heads of these oil/gas companies are? They must either have the top of security at thier homes and/or be very gutsy for doing this. I know plenty of people that wouldn't give a second thought to getting revenge for being gouged this bad.

Yeah, consider the oil companies are making record profits, somewhere around $5 to $6 billion per quarter. Pretty pathetic

most people take public transprot to go long distances over here - the train system can take you most places you need to commute. and yes i agree - american "cites" are much more spread out than UK ones are. heheh The Uk has 1/5 to 1/6 the population of the states crammed into an area smaller than texas

in england we pay tax to put our cars on the road about £180 a year which is about $316 us dollar

we also have to pay about £45 a year for a MOT which is really another form of tax

then the cheeky gits make us pay more tax to park the bloody thing in town

they also got tolls on certain roads

and lets not talk about the city of london lol

too me it looks like the goverment are laughing their heads off at the motorists expence

I haven't seen a pump first gas station in years, I didn't even know they still existed.

I need to get out of California more often.

SUVs n Hummers have to be the worst abusers of gas ever. I can understand why people would want trucks though. Due to them actually serving a real purpose.

Actually when you throw in the cost of living and the average weekly paycheck the usa pays more than the uk. Yours is liters ours is gallons, with the pounds to dolloars conversion and minimum wages diff and tax differences you would be paying roughly 3$/per galon here, Im in one of the chaepest spots and its 3.19 here.
