Thread: Why does lightening have a warmup?

i'm fine with the timer, i just want to be able to move and use lighting.
My only problem with it having a timer is that what's the point of using it when I can use saber throw to get the same effect with no negatives. The timer should mean it has something better, it doesn't.

my guess is:
saber throw and lighting(with out a timer) would be unbalanced maybe?
That's all i can think of for the timer.
This is a good discussion.
Why in the heck does lightning have such a long timer and why does it "root" you place?
One is bad enough, but both is really bad.

i can saber throw and lighting faster than saber throw saber throw.
just think how fast you could hit saberthrow lightning and keep spamming that if you didn't have a timer on lightning.
I'm guessing that's what they would be unbalanced.
I wouldn't mind that at all though.

Saber Throw + Saber Throw, usually I get the 2nd saber throw off just after the lighting fires if I were to fire lightning at the same time as the first saber throw. Not that I've sat down with a timer or anything, just kinda my feel for the speed of things after playing MLS/MPW for several months.
I just don't think that can be where they're worried about unbalancing since as a rifleman you could alternate 2 high damage specials that hit for around 1k+ a hit with a range of 64m's instead of power's 32m's.
If they're afraid to take away the dang zip bar, give it some debuff effect as well and leave the zip bar on. But something needs to be done because currently I see no point in using lightning.
