I see the pattern. Like every other time. Jedi have a skill thats powerful. Allows us to control combat. Actually works(minus some of the exploits that should be fixed) and gives us abilities that no one has or can counter. What do you think is coming? Im not going to use the word but we all know. We can see it . Only a matter of time.
Common things I hear that it needs
1. a counter, a way for people to "break" it.
2. Move it to the master box.
Ugh. As soon as someone comes up against a template they dont have an answer for yet they scream N*** it.
Cloakers as its been stated several times have to give something up to get cloak. As alot of Jedi did not originally have Powers in their Template before they got cloak this means they have to give up 28 sp to get it. So what I can get away when I want. If you get me one on one and root me Im a hurting unit. Put this skill in the master box and cloakers will just regrind the uber template they had before.(till that gets that BAT). So instead of having Jedi that you cant see youll have jedi you can see but cant touch.
Regardless Im going on record as saying that with in 6 months this will be getting some N***'s. I truly hope it doesnt but We are all used to the patterns. Its inevetable.
We need a players association like in sports. A group of actual players that have a direct say in developing. That way we at least know that when changes were made we at least had a voice. Yes we have corros but really they just feed info back and forth. If they had a stake in what was being done then tanks and Bac could work together to find solutions with comprimises on both sides this would slow the bleeding.
Example. Agree that cloak is ok where it is. Concede that if you run in circles around people using specials that it would break cloak. but if you stay stealth and arent firing off an infusion next to someonewhile u are cloaked then it wont break. There are solutions that can make everyone happy. This isnt just about cloak either. Its about every N*** that has happened and ever will. There was probably a better solution but we didnt have a voice as players so devs did what devs do.

This discussion does not need to be brought up again, but I must say this: if it does indeed need to be dealt with then the solution is to relocate the skill rather than have it "nerfed" just like the devs did to feign death, they could have resolved feign death by relocating the skill or even making it a master skill. Feign death was a good example of wrecking a skill that other people benefitted from rather than someone interested in mastering the profession, if the majority of Jedi are interested in just picking up that one skill and eventually in the long run, the master of that profession gets penalized due to the abuse that particular skill recieved. Just my vision of how the developers do their thing.

There is already a way to break it. The more people in the area (NPCs and PCs) the more Force is drained. That is the only thing needed to break cloak. I hate "nerf" whiners.

The problem with cloak is it can be re-used too quickly and costs too little to activate. It should have a higher re-usecost and only last for 45 secs. Right now it is a get out of jail free card in PvP making it "unbalanced". It needs to be a master powers skill if it doesn't have a timer IMHO. It allows too many ppl to dabbleto getone of the "best" jedi skills. Imagine if Avoid incap was a tier 4 skill. Think of how unbalancing that would be and you realize why cloak needs to be addressed.

Yeah but this starts a pattern. For those who just pick up arua in the defender line or armor in the enhancer line. Or 4000 healer. Every jedi I know has 4000 healer. so cloak is a valuable skill. Not ever jedi has it though. 4000 healer is much more valuable. If you have to master a proffesion to have access to the good skills then improved arua will have to become a master box skill and the same with advanced heal. Jedi get 226 sp that have to be divided among 5 skillsets. Putting everything that is good in masterboxes will just make everyones tempates that much more similiar. The ability to obtain good skills with out mstering a skill set allows people to diversify. We might as well go back to the old days wehre Jedi Skills were all in one skill set. We all had the same template. I agree
that if skills are abused (using cloak to easily loot stuff or greif people) then this is bad. I am not talking about that though. I use it how its intended.

personally, i would like to see it in the master box.My logic?
1. well, on chimaera, there are many jedi who are using it to draw agro in the DWB, as a way to minimise the amount of other groups able to get JetPack parts.
2. if a temped jedi runs - well, he needs to learn his temp or grind a better one. or is that why they developed FR?

Yes but how is aura or 4000 healer a "get out of Jail free" card. To compare those 2 skills to Cloak is pointless.

You realize a cloaked Jedi can loot all 4 bins on the corvette and complete the mission without even having to uncloak.

Seems like the Jedi players are best at nerfing themselves.

1. Id rather see them fix the xploiting then take it away.
2. I never run from fights. Its more tactical for me. Wait I take that back. I run if its 8-1
Ok Im sure we all have opinions on this and they all are valid. I guess my point is that us cloakers better start banking xp cause change is in the winds. I just hate the damn N*** bat.

1. No problem with that one. They fix the bug that NPCs/creatures aggroes the player. When? Time will tell.
2. So what is wrong with running? They are not obligated to stay and fight
