This might or might not have been discussed before, but I don't know, so I'm posting it for me. I'm asking that because other than the thrill of the fight there's nothing in it for a Jedi.

If a bounty hunter dies he's got to lose a couple droids, couple foods, and half an hour. If they win they get money.

On the other hand, the Jedi gets nothing in case of victory and has a lot to lose in case of defeat. But then "l33t bh dat cnat spel rite" will start talking all sorts of trash: ie. ahahahaha u wuss lol u coward etc.

Sure there's gonna be the 25 bounty hunters that post here coming and telling me how I should stay off the terms, and how that's the price for being a Jedi, oppinion which I respected before, but when you have a level 60 padawan having to fight a level 80 bounty hunter, how can you tell them that? When you have a MBH/MCM after you dealing 1500 damage a second, how can you tell them that?

I hope I made some sense in this post. :/

would be nice if there was something in it for both sides...there really is nothing to gain.

It's a failed system. I'm starting to tell people that if they want to play in a star wars universe, to get off this SWG game. This is not star wars, it's an mmorpg that uses the names off the SW movies for advertising.

VERY slick. I'm gonna make me a basketball game under the same concept, call it The Lord of the Rings and have all the characters from the movies playing basketball.

Through the force things you will see, other places, the future, the past; old friends long gone.

Why should Jedi fight bounty hunters?

Because jedi is a PvP prof, nothing more. If your a grinder then fine run, if not maybe you should stay and fight, learn about pvp and how to use your skills. When a Bh comes for me its a matter of pride sometimes i win sometimes i die and as a bh when i fight a jedi and watch him run at the first sight or root/run/cloak i wonder how well he/she is going to do when the FRS comes back

If you dont want to be hunted, please delete your jedi.

This topic has been brought up so many times, just stay active on the forums for a couple weeks and you'll see what I am talking about. On the other hand, nearly everyone knows that jedi gain nothing by standing thier ground and fight.. the reward that alot of people claim is that you get to be a jedi. This arguement has gone on for so long, that I rarely pay any attention to it any more. Just vent a little (we all do) and move on and try to enjoy the game.

dude...if you make "star wars pong" but make it so the only playable character paddlesare pokemon, you can probably get at least 200k subscribers....

I didn't say I don't want to be hunted, I only asked why should I fight back? What's in it for me if I win? What's in it for my level 50 Jedi friend that would have to fight a level 80 bounty hunter?

Funny thing is I'm not venting for anything. I was just wondering why should we fight back that's all.

I'll wait for the FRS and I'll fight back then, when I can get my FRS xp. But till then force run and cloak will be my friends from now on lol

As i said.. if your a grinder its fine to run. But if your asking the question "whats in it for me" and "why should i fight" its sergests your have a problem with being hunted

I'm actually a PvPer and I've never ran from a bounty hunter. Yet.

I will from now on, though just so I don't give them any satisfaction anymore. /shrug

there is no reason to fight a BH. It's a borked system in the first place to allow for any player to come buffed and ready for a fight, especially now that they have totally "balanced" the jedi into nerfdom.

Once they allowed BH's to get MCM on top of coming into the fight with buffs and food/drink, the reasons for staying to fight were totally wiped clean. I prefer to just lead the BH's into a high end aggro cave and smile.

The only people who want you to stay and fight of course are the BH'ers or Jedi who simply like to lose xp at he expense of their imaginary honor or ego.

Why should Jedi fight bounty hunters?

Answer:

(1) Because it's undignified to run away from a bounty hunter like a scared little girl.

(2) As stated above, Jedi is a PvP profession. The only way to become proficient at PvP is to actually PvP in an actual PvP setting where anything goes. Many Jedi think they can gain PvP experience by dueling their buddies on the roof of a guild hall. Doing this is the difference between theory and practice. The best way to get better at PvP is to stay and fight bounty hunters who come for you. Unfortunately there are way too many no-skill newb Jedi who cannot understand this concept and wouldn't know what to do when bounty hunters actually come for them.

From experience I've found that Jedi use that "I have nothing to gain from fighting a BH" excuse to cover up the fact that they lack any PvP skill whatsoever. If a Jedi knows how to PvP he will fight every single time. The one who don't know how to fight stand around and ask: "Why should Jedi fight bounty hunters?"

Also, the excuses that Jedi use to run away from bounty hunters are the EXACT reasons why bounty hunters have no problem DB'ing a Jedi who was incapped by a piket, or jumping a Jedi when they are attacking a lair, ... because most are no-skill-having newbs who would run at the first opportunity they have. So the best way to complete a mission is to strike Jedi in these underhanded scenarios.

It's a no-win situation for bounty hunters. If a bounty hunter waits for the Jedi to get ready for a fight, the Jedi force runs out of there and doesn't fight. If a bounty hunter doesn't wait for the Jedi to get ready for a fight and jumps the Jedi when he is attacking a lair, the bounty hunter gets called all sorts of obscene names saying he's a cheater or dishonorable.

There is nothing a Jedi wouldn't do to lie, cheat or steal. It's the reason I hunt the lot of them.
