Thread: Do You need a Lightsaber for Innate Jedi Armor?
I'm planning on a hybred...
Master Swords, Dancer 2040, Jedi Defence 4400
No armor and 2 Handed Sith Sword
Sorry to break this to you but SOE stated they are getting rid of jedi hybrids.... u need to hold sabers to use any jedi skills etc (kinda sucks cause i dont use sabers myself mpowers mehancer and 4004 healer ) and i like my rifle

As far as I know, SOE has not stated anything....a rumor was created after someone hacked the .tre files, and that rumor was neither confirmed nor denied. I have a hard time believing they will kill the hybrids, but you never know.
As things are right now, your innate armor will work fine and dandy no matter what you equip as a weapon.

you dont get jedi exp unless u kill with a lightsaber or a jedi damage power unless this has changed lately and if u use a none jedi weapon u will get none jedi exp .

Well at the moment I'm a master swords master def and going for powers 4000 and as it stands at the moment my armour works fine. I too have heard this rumour but have not seen any statement from SOE regarding it, so for now it is just a rumour.
Lets just hope they don't make it so that you have to have a sabaer in hand to use force moves /fingerscrossed.
I know you need a lightsaber or some damaging force power to get jedi xp... that is going to be rough... Defense 4400 on a training saber isn't going to be a grind... it's going to be a drag!
Anyway, it sounds like the concensus is that I will get all the benefits of Defence 4400 even if I don't use a saber. I hope this is the case. I'm not going to be the greatest jedi in the world, but I'll be one of the nastiest dancing jedi around!

I promise you that this is the case, at least for now. I am a Defender 4440, Master Rifleman, CM4000 and I wear no armor. I actually get hurt more WITH my saber equipped. Long live the hybrids, I say. I am not uber, but it sure surprises the heck out of people.
