Thread: Forced-PvE must stop, Free the PvP Jedi!
The current system is99.9% catering to the pve Jedi.
Fact; You can't level a Jedi off of pvp until you reach Jedi Knight.
You can only gain xp by pve as a Jedi until you reach Knight rank.
***Opinion**
I would guess 99.9% of the Jedi Knights have their skill set complete when the reach the final Knight trials.
Of course it makes sense as a Knight in full open pvp stands to lose more xp thus digging a hole so deep that the continuation of their skill set would be hindered.
Jedi is almost purely a pve catered gaming style !
Why as a person who enjoys playing my Jedi characters in a pvp playstyle be forced to pve to gain experience that way?
Why is the system so biased to those that enjoy the pve playstyle?
When I put my neck on the line against a Bounty Hunter or for my Faction or my Guild or my city or my planet why canI not gain experience for "my choice" of playstyle ?
Why shouldI be forced into a playstyle that other prefer to build the skills of my Jedi ?
If a dev wants to come here and simply state that the data supports the fact that the majority of the subscribers want it that way well then I'll take that as an answer.
But if there is no real legitimate reason for it then why can we pvp luvin Jedi get a system that allows us to play our jedi "our" way too ?

instead of having people use these cheap methods just to gain frs xp you would have padawans using them to get to knight and so on.
just my 2 cents.

Well you can have as much PVP as you want in levelling by getting yourselves on the terms as much as possible during the grind, hey tell you what go and grind on mokk and janta. See they have catered for your style of play, What they havent catered for is people that love Quests instead of mass-killing creatures and NPC's. Surely most players should be on the BH terminals for the number of NPC's they have murdered in their time.
As i said in reply to your post in the PVE thread, from what i have seen it is more like 39% of knights have a finished template before doing the trials as most Jedi that want to enter the FRS love PVP and want to get started ASAP. They dont care too much about finishing their template as long as they can PVP. These are the people that have little to no right playing Light Jedi as that is not what Light Jedi are supposed to be about.
Read the source material that covers Jedi and realise that SOE's vision of what Jedi should be is purely there for teh 1337 UB3R 64M3R5 and not for the general populace. Now most of the aforementioned group of gamers do not roleplay at all and even give themselves stupid names that distract others from roleplaying in SWG. Lets face it the RPG from this MMORPG died a long time ago when the 1337 speakers got here and brought the dismal idea of PVP to the foreground of the game.

I'm confused, other players play mokks and janta's ? That's pve not pvp. again don't try and twist the facts.

ummm wait, ""39% of knights have a finished template before doing the trials""
What trials are you talking about ?
Padawans do Knight trials and to become a Knight.
Oh wait I see the whole problem you are having; mokk's and Janta's are other players andJedi Knights do Jedi Knight trials.
You're playing a different game than the rest of us.
We're talking about Lucas Art's / SOE Star Wars Galaxies.
In this game other players fight other players for gee player versus player combat ( hence pvp) not "non player characters" ( hence npc) and Jedi Padawans do "Jedi Knight trials" in the hopes of completing those trials to become a Jedi Knight.
But irregardless of this and what the percentages are the fact remains that the Jedi experience is made from PVE not from pvp.
You have your playstyle now, but we do not have ours.
So in all fairness with the other posts wanting their playstyle then why should we be denied ours?

You know what, I'll disagree again.
I don't need to read the source material. When I saw Star Wars it was the only Star Wars.
You could tell someone that you saw Star Wars and they didn't ask , " oh, what episode."
SOE's and Lucas Arts and George Lucas surely did not intend Jedi for that group you claim.
They surely intended it for the audience of the Star Wars stories and gamers.
The only thing that can kill rpg is the rpg'ers. If you stop it it dies. If you continue it, it lives.
If you're claiming there aren't many rpg'ers then that is an issue with not enough subscribers wanting to play that style. So then the majority would be the "other" sect and shouldn't the game be catered to the mass of subscribers and not the minority ?
You're rp mental capacity lacks if you let an odd name ruin your fun.
and I've seen roleplayers with stupid names too.
when the 1337 speakers got here and brought the dismal idea of PVP to the foreground of the game.
Sorry but pvp started when this game went live and with it being Star Wars and the timeline it was set in it was developed to have pvp action.
Jedi are a pvp style hence their training

two words... Fight Clubs

aside from it being right or wrong
Ultima Online for over 7 years has had a system that whenever, however you utilized a skill you gained from it.
That means for over 7 years I could log into UO and choose whatever playstyleI wanted for that duration and gain experience for my time.
In SWG I cannot log in and roleplay a city raid with my guildmates and Friends and have that gameplay style result in experience for my time.
I am FORCED to PVE to gain my experience. That is the fact and it isn't the other way around !
Now many people did afk macroing and in all these games andthat will never be stopped.
But the fact is that while some might not like Fight clubs they aren't explotive according to the Devs in theory.
Now how some may practice them may be but then should they remove all crafters because some people afk craft?
But honestly does everyone look at someone with a title displayed and wonder if they macro'ed it or played it all out?
If you do, why do you care? As in the offline part of life the only thing that can take away from ones accomplishment is oneself.
It's a state of mind, let it go.
But on the contrary in SWG the only wayI can gain experience with my fighter type characters is by killing npc critters or humanoids !
So again this shows the fact that SWG is predominantly PVE !
Whereare the PvP experience gains ?

Since when was SWG all about PVP and not about RPG which can be PVP or PVE? If it is the case that that is what it is all about then please create a new game genre for it called MMOSF or Massively Multiplayer Online Slaughter Fest... Oh wait isnt that what Jedi Knights Multiplayer was?
But irregardless of this and what the percentages are the fact remains that the Jedi experience is made from PVE not from pvp.
You have your playstyle now(wrong, we dont want to have to kill 60 million quenkers for jedi, jedi should not be about killing), but we do not have ours.

But did the original PVP have all the non-RP trash talking and 1337 templates? No it was far better back in the days when SWG was new, before the 1337 speakers got here, ban them all, let everyone have fun again, even PVP'ers.
Jedi are a pvp style hence their training <-- Just where did you pull this from? Light Jedi are the former protectors of peace, yes they are good in combat, but that should not be all there is to it if you choose Light Jedi. I would be willing to accept that Dark Jedi are Pure PVP with the FRS system used for levelling them being correct. So hows about splitting Jedi at Padawan and giving you the option of Light or Dark then, go Light and you have mostly PVE quests and get xp from healing as well as fighting(though much more xp than dark is required because of the quests) or go Dark and get xp based on the FRS system to level your skills. There you go a complete and true to Canon suggestion for how PVE can have PVE Jedi and PVP can have PVP Jedi, once you hit knight in either Light or Dark you could go into an improved FRS where you have the choice of going Spec Ops(if Light) or not if Dark. Is this not an idea you could even back?
You are ofcourse right. At least a Dark Jedi should be able, if he prefers PvP as his playstyle choice, to level from Initiate up throughout PvP.

Well there you go proving my point. I am forced to "grind" (odd choice for a supossed roleplayer) on npc's!
Ok so let me ask you this. How much Jedi experience are you getting frm your BH encounters? ROFL !!

you're again misunderstanding.... that shows what real pvp and npc and pve means, not your idea of it.
Mokks and jantas are npc's not pvp

You have your playstyle now(wrong, we dont want to have to kill 60 million quenkers for jedi, jedi should not be about killing), but we do not have ours.
You fail to adress that....^^^^^
Wait if you don't want to PVE for your xp and we don't want to pve for ours then you're helping our cause, thank -you !
You do have pve. Are you not getting missions off of the terminals that are orchestrated by some dignataries of the universe?
Gee every missionI run has an roleplay aspect to it.
Maybe I could teach you some of the ways to roleplay this into ypour ummm gamestyle !
So in all fairness with the other posts wanting their playstyle then why should we be denied ours?

Yes but back them all of your personality types said they were all the Creature Handlers and that profession got nerfed down to Zoo keeper ! No it was far better back in the days when SWG was new, before the 1337 speakers got here, ban them all, let everyone have fun again, even PVP'ers.
Those aren't the ones that should be banned

Look I'm sorry if you're anon -wartype but you know sometimes you have to go to war to keep the peace and the Jedi Order knew this and that is why all Jedi were trained in the art of combat and that is why Jedi have Lightsabers !
Let me check in my old memory banks and see if Obi-Wan kept his saber in his belt and tried to pacify Darth Vader............
No, as a matter of fact Obi-Wan says " You're only a master of evil Darth"
and proceeds to strike first !!
So there you have it, one of the greatest Light side Jedi forcing Darth Vader to pvp !
So what you're saying is all you types that are roleplayers and non pvp people don't have Dark Jedi ?
You're all rebels ?
Now that idea forces players to certain playstyles just like the current system forces us to PVE !
