MLS, Mdef is good for damage dealer/tank. Is the master box worth it? Well if you want low fc defences then mdef is definately your best option. It might not be pretty, but it gets the job done.

While the MLS MDEF template is good for damage dealing/taking you may want to test out a few variations of this template. one that may suit yoru purposes is...

MLS Healer 4000 Enhancer 3402 Defender 4040 (249SP including the 24 from FS)

While you said yu don't want to burn a lot of force th FA is very usefull its not worth it if yoru helping someone grind but if you are going aftr high level MOB or PVPing FA in conjunction with the innate armor from defender & aura can give you teh same jedi armor as master Defender, & while you don't have master defender & avoid incap you have more tactics available to you which you will find more usefull against BH & so on than in the MDEF MLS templates.

It really will depend on yoru playstyle but I've found that most people that go for the MLS MDEF temp get board with it aftr a couple months & want a more interesting template.

I can understand that, I've been a master defender for about five months now, and at times it is boring even I have considered changing. But a defender is what I always wanted to be, I feel it fits with my vision of what my character is.

But to be honest if you do mdef you are missing out on a lot of cool stuff, maybe one day I'll get too bored to keep it, but I've actually started working on my second Jedi to do master enhancer with.

I really really want a good Damage dealer/taker template withour having to use much force dependant skills, i like Aura and valor seems ok but i wouldnt want to use something like FA that drains force everytime your hit.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a nice all round template that has good defences (at min FC)

Since you're keeping MLS, I would suggest MLS, Def 4440, Enh 3002, Heal 4000.

With this template you probably won't be able to solo Necrosis, but you will have no problem soloing Canyon Krayts, you willhave no problem keepingranged opponents within melee range, you will have little regen down-time, and your defences will cost you very little force (only the activation cost of Aura). Obviously not the best tanking template, but definitely a good all-around template.

First off who the hell is Necrosis??? and do i want to solo him??? lol

The only difference in your template to mine is you have added channel by taking out valor, i cba with channel as i wont use it in pvp

This template has me intreagued. If I did drop mdef this is the kind of thing I might go for. I don't use AI or Valor that much, and the extra healing would go down a treat. And since regen has been broken I have actually found myself wanting channel for the first time... very interesting.

At work at the moment, but whats the innate armour on this, and what is the total force?

If you don't care about Channel, then either MLS/MDef with eitherEnh 3xxx/Heal 2xxx or Enh 2xxx/Heal 3xxxmay be your best bet.

But both Improved Force Speed and Improved Force Infusion are very valuable skills. I wouldn't want to give up either of them.

Necrosis is a Grievous look-alike who always drops at least 3 loot items, and sometimes 4 (the 4th item being the Bane's Heart crystal).

CORRECTION: 5400 innate armor, 6150 force w/o robes.

Who oh Why does everyone think you need to be master defender or close to solo necro???

I'm Master Powers LS 0400 Defender 0040 Healer 4000 Enhancer 4004 & I can solo necro....

Oh well I guess I'm the only one who comes up with creative ways to do things.

MLS MDef is a very nice tank for PVE. You can last a long time, however you have to rely on the enemies not to attack you or friends to transfer you force when yours is zero. I don't like that template cause enhancer gives your force back and the Armor at MDef isn't all that great.

The power of MDef lies in the fact people miss you very often and when they do hit you their dmg is reduced because of your high melee def.

However many people use attachments and a certain drink to boost their accuracy. In the end that template is gonna get you killed first in PVP. In duels however, it has it's advantages.

For instance no drain from force armor, but you also lack the ability to regen it. And you don't have improved force speed.

It's up to you. Ask yourself some questions, what do I want to do with my jedi, which skills do I want, which do I need, which can I live without.

This is me now, it is a great templateespeciallyin PvE. If you only want a pvp template I would suggest

MLS/MDef withEnh 3xxx/Heal 2xxx

Infusion isn't as much use in PvP as PvEyou mightbe better off with the extra speed.

But fact remains mdef is boring
