Thread: Remove Snare & Root from the game.
The root became a solution to the overpowered melee profession preCU who could just run through the lasers and bullets that were shot at him, take one or two hits at the ranged profession and that was it, game was over. There was no defense against a melee person back then. It got extremely frustrating to play anything but melee in PvP.
Still there is no equal to a root ability anywhere else in a combat scenario. Unless you are talking about being able to shoot someone's legs off, then it will be an eternal root, not something you can come back from in the least. Certainly there was a reason for the existence of a root, but is it realistic in its current state, hardly.
Hey, they took a Scout only ability, and with the CU brought it into PvP, but only for everyone but the Scouts! It only worked on creatures for us, but the CU gave it out to people who could use it against everything, andbroke / removed the abilities for us to do that.
If they had never handed out a Scout-only ability, this would have never happened.

Root
Avoid Incap (post-CU version, to clarify better)
Cloak
Sap/Shock/Traumatize/Hemerhage
Stasis/Paralyze/Concussion
Bring back posture down and animal scare/mind trick.
Oh what the hell, bring back pre-CU!
