Just wanted to put forth the Pazaak / Sabacc ideas again, it's been a year
I was sat for over an hour waiting for a Corvette to spawn in Kessel last night, I ended
up just going to bed as I couldn't bring myself to wait any longer.
So anywho... I thought, ooo wouldn't it be good if while I was waiting all this time with
nothing to do, I could whip out my Pazaak / Sabacc deck and have a game.

The Details
I thought maybe a container type device like those loot kits that could hold a certain
number of items, in this these items would be cards. And the device would be a
the deck. This device would only take up one space in your inventory. It could hold
maybe 20to 50 cards depending what works best for the game.
You could get this device (deck of cards) by talking to a gambler in a cantina etc..
who would also teach you the rules on how to play the game. From then there would
be a new type of loot drop along with all the other loot drops, various different cards.
These could be traded or kept. These cards would be dropped into your device (deck
of cards) so that they could be use in the game. Maybe certain generic cards could
be artisan craftable, leaving the rare / specialones for loot.
This game could be played alone, with another player, or with a group of players.
You could bet credits on the game. An amount would be agreed and accepted by
all participants before the game began etc.
Well that's about all I can think of on it at the moment. Let me know if you like it

If you don't like it, go away!
hehe.
I think it would be great to see this in game, it would be excellent for filling those
gaps in time when you're waiting for certain quest NPC's to respawn etc.

I'd suggest that to get certain cards, you would have to visit a smuggler, who could teach you other tricks as well.

Ooo yeah, nice idea. This could really be good. Maybe the devs already
have it planned in a coming publish

pazaak and sabacc were the only things I hated about KOTOR, aside from bugs..and anyways, wouldnt this game be forgotten by now? Howabout giving smugglers the option to craft gambling tables and lugjack machines and whatnot..Let player cities be able to build casinos, and only a smuggler could place one.

Yeah, I like the idea of having the gaming tables craftable. I thought I read
a while back that it would be possible to put gambling machines on the yacht
etc..no idea what happend to that.
Still fancy a Sabacc deck though, for those long nights sat in Kessel waiting
for a corvette that might never come hehe.

From the moment I started the game, I always thought Sabaac would be a good addition to the game, as it does not require someone to have a deck, nor would it rely purely on what cards you have, as Pazaak would. My idea would be to include a few sabaac table at cantinas in the seedier parts of the galaxy, where a few NPC's always play, with a few open seats for players. I would also give the option to 3 or more players to start their own table, without NPC's and the ability to wager ANYTHING in the game, with certain exceptions (i.e. Bio-Linked armour). I also like the idea of gambling table in yachts, guildhalls, etc, with the owner given the ability to invite people to a high stakes game, or whatever they wish. I think it would add a new element to the game, as well as bring some much needed traffic to the seedier cantinas of the game.

Another idea would be to include some known players, like Lando Calrissian, who would occassionally gamble some rare items, giving the players a reason to play. Of course, there would also have to be a time limit for playing with someone like Lando, to give everyone a chance. I know sabaac couldn't be that hard to program into the game, as there a few computer programs out there that simulate the game pretty well.
