Is it me or does this game have less loot than any MMORPG out there. Dont compare this to a smaller MMO, compare to EQ, EQ2, WOW, DAOC, etc. And when I talk about loot I mean things you can use to enhance your char. Rugs, banners, furniture, etc. all nice but only useful to look at. Armor drops are all but non existent. Weapon drops are 98% worthless, and the quested ones are of average quality. Only thing worth it are the boss drops, and they seem to have a loot table the size of a dollar bill, what 15 items the most? I think my mom would love this game with all the rugs and plants and decorating etc. I petition they hike up our monthly for a couple months and add some decent drops in this game.

So sad to see this go out the window. Guess it's back to WOW for me.

Huh? Compared to what? Not all the quest reward items are great but the good ones(e.g. Proton Carb, Katarn Knuckler, etc.)are definitely better than what can be crafted.

This game was originally unique in the fact that it was extremely community and crafter-centric, with a player based economy.

What we have now is the old SWG colliding with the Dev's want to copy WoW and shovel Jeteye down our throats :/

Completely agree with the above poster, glad someone else realizes it.

The thing is, all the other MMO's are set in times of magic and such. Then you can have wizards or whatever who create uber weapons. But in a game thats based on Star Wars, I don't think you have anyone that uses magic or whatever to create the uber stuff, sorry.

Many crafted E11 Mark II carbines are better than the Proton Carbine... and would sell for less. I'm not sure about the Katarn, as I am not Teras Kasi, but the Proton is certainly not better than crafted.

This game should be FREE, if not downright paying us to play this piece of sh1t. This game is hardly worth the $15 we pay for it now as it is. And you're wanting to RAISE the monthly fee? I would like to know where one can get a drug that makes one so delusional.

Seriously, what i love about this game is that its NOT LOOT dependant. Unlike another game i play, Ragnarok Online if anyone here is familiar with it, this game is almost completely free of looting, save for a few rare exceptions. This game doesn't create a hierarchy based around chance with the looting of exceptionally rare items...save for CA/AA. I don't need to worry about paying out up to millions upon millions of credits to adequately function in this game. I can level, make money, do most content with the average crafted materials AS/WS make. Rarely does super-crafted equipment make a difference unless it is a duel or some extremely challenging fight.

Most other games make rare loot almost a necessity to give characters a chance to do things in many situations. Such a system really hurts new players in the long run. This is why i like the non-loot system that SWG has. If nothing else (which it does seem to be the case), the player-based economy is probably one of SWG's best accomplishments.

After taking away his costs...you gave him 187,000% profit...How do you feel about that?

Loot to enhance your characters? Sounds like armor and clothing attachments to me.

Weapons and armor? That's what I use weaponsmith and armorsmith vendors for. And before you complain about price, if you don't like the price set, then either make the credits needed to buy it or just don't buy it. Find a vendor who sells the same thing for a better price and shop there. Simple as that.

They tried "legendary" weapons drops in the past. It unbalanced the gameplay. Plus, crafters in general have had a more difficult time of it since the CU was implimented, why make it tougher on them?

Amen. This game has a large crafter and merchant based community that would not be possible if it where like other MMOGs.

Simple as that.

Having hard caps on damage and speed of weapons helps how again? Basically, if you loot uber krayt tissue, it doesnt matter. Everything is mediocre now. This plays in the favor of the casual gamer that does not loot hunt...

If they started putting armor pieces, weapons, ect. into loot, then it would be bad for business for Armorsmiths and Weaponsmiths. Sure EQ2, WoW, ect. may have better loots, but they don't have professions which craft weapons, armor, droids, clothing, and the like, now do they?
When adding loot, you have to think about who it will effect. If you add in some uber rifles to the loot table and they're not very hard to get, you're going to hurt the Weaponsmiths because people can go loot a free uber rifle and not have to bother with a Weaponsmith nor pay a high price. If you add some nice armor pieces to the loot, then you'll hurt Armorsmiths for people could just go out and loot themselves a full suit of decent armor without the hassle of expences of going to an Armorsmith.
There are more then just combat professions in SWG. If that was all there was to this game, then yeah we would need loot drops like this. But when we have profession that craft all this stuff for business, no we don't need the loot, and it's just a bad idea.
