Thread: You know . . . . . this really isn't loot.
Loot in this game should be based on components you take to the crafters. Sadly, they've gone from scematics to just plain putting better stuff in as quest rewards.
Add a few thousand ADK and you have a crafting system going downhill, fast.

Unlike another game i play, Ragnarok Online if anyone here is familiar with it, this game is almost completely free of looting, save for a few rare exceptions. This game doesn't create a hierarchy based around chance with the looting of exceptionally rare items...save for CA/AA. I don't need to worry about paying out up to millions upon millions of credits to adequately function in this game. I can level, make money, do most content with the average crafted materials AS/WS make. Rarely does super-crafted equipment make a difference unless it is a duel or some extremely challenging fight.
Most other games make rare loot almost a necessity to give characters a chance to do things in many situations. Such a system really hurts new players in the long run. This is why i like the non-loot system that SWG has. If nothing else (which it does seem to be the case), the player-based economy is probably one of SWG's best accomplishments.

Many crafted E11 Mark II carbines are better than the Proton Carbine... and would sell for less. I'm not sure about the Katarn, as I am not Teras Kasi, but the Proton is certainly not better than crafted.
No, they are not. Since CU, nobody has had the silly reso lists in all 98%+ and up stats to make uber. They haven't had the loot parts and in theone case where we had loot to make elite (KDS/ Rancoe Hides) they borked it and blame it on bugs. If we had the bazillioin named resources in high quality I am convinced weaps made by MWP's would make loot ones look small. I figure it will take another 2 years for the community to get them together and then it will be time for another CU nerf bat.

Ding Ding Ding Ding.
In the effort to "balance" and force everyone to group. A lot of items are being nerfed into the ground and made mediocre, even the crafting items are all basically the same now. Slices are all basically the same. etc. The game has lost a lot of it's variety and spice in the form of items because everything is basically the SAME now.
This is one of the reasons so many people are pissed about Jedi who have PRE-CU sabers, because those saber's are one of the last hold-overs to the spice and variety that once was.
You can outfit yourself with the absolute best stuff, and it really doesn't make a whole lot of difference compared to someone who hasn't.
Not to mention the fact that after 2 years, we still haven't seen a different selection of armor, droids, weapons, etc. It's all basically still the same crap we had 2 years ago, and that in and of itself becomes mundane pretty quickly.
The Barc is probably the best thing design wise that I've seen in a while, and it'll cost you 30 bucks to get it. heh.

guys and gals you are missing the point he/she is saying that there is not a big drop in CA or AA, he is right it is mostly decor... I have hunted alot of things after the CU and have been hunting the same thing for a good amount of time. I am not getting the good stuff like everyone used to back in the day. CA / AA / Perf Pearls (who do you know got a Perf Pearl within 2 weeks) if you know someone PM me I would love to go hunting with that guy/gal. It is like the good stuff dont drop that often or you have some punks just log in, in a cave 10min before a 10hr spawn loot and then LD. Whats going on, it used to be where you had to hunt something to get something good. like Nightsisters / Krayts / Janta's / ect... Just bring it back to where you have to go out and hunt for a good loot. not sit by a chest waiting for a timed spawn.Also give better loot, good and fairpearlsare not worth a 10min battle with a krayt dragon. Help me help you..
