FAQ
1. What does SEA mean?
SEA stands for Skill Enhancing Attachment. Which are attachments that give you extra skills like Ranged Defense, Speed, Accuracy, Crafting bonus’s, and much more. They come in two forms CA and AA.
2. Great! So what does CA and AA mean?
CA means Clothing Attachment, you can only use these on clothing.
AA means Armour Attachment, you can only use these on Armour.

3. How do I use my CA/AA’s?
You need a piece of clothing or Armour with sockets. When you /examine you item, you will see how many sockets it has. Not all clothing and armour have sockets and a max of four sockets are on both clothing and armour. Backpacks, while having sockets, can not be used for attachments at this time.
4.Do all Mods stick or only the highest one? (Ex. A CA with a +14, +5, and +6)
All Mods will stick if you have enough sockets. Each Mod will take one socket,. So if you have a clothing with 4 free sockets, 3 will be taken up.
If you only have 1 or 2 sockets, the higher Mods will stick. IF the SEA has even numbers, Ex. +5and plus +5 of the same bonus, it will go
alphabetically.

5. Can I place two of the same type of SEA’s on the same clothing? (Ex. A Piece of clothing with +5 Two handed speed and you add a CA with +8 Two handed speed)
You can, but the higher number will overwrite the lower number. So using the example, instead of having a clothing with +5 and +8 Two handed Speed, you will have a clothing with just +8 Two handed Speed. (Be Warned, this will also use a socket. So even though you don’t get the benefit, you lose a socket on your clothing) Also BE Modded clothing counts. So if you have a BE clothing with +16 ranged defense, if you add a CA with +5 ranged defense, you will still only have the +16.

6. Can I add has many SEA’s to differentpiece's of clothinghas I want to get a huge bonus in defense, speed, or anything else?
You can add has many has you want, but you do not receive any benefit for the SEA’s after +25( Ex. +25 Rifle speed will help wonders, but +30 Rifle speed will still be the same has +25) This is Dev. Confirmed and will not be changed. Allbonus’s are capped at 25, including BE totals.

7. What do Armour/Weapons/etc. Experimentation tapes do?
For every +10 you get in experimentation tapes the crafter use‘s, he gets one extra Experimentation point to use in crafting. This helps him create better products. You can only get two extra points though, so you don’t have to have +25 Experimentation tapes, though the +5 extramight help you get better crafting results with experimenting, it is currenlty not know if it does.

8. Are Experimentation tapes still worth a lot?
Depends, Weapon tapes are selling better then ever now, but on the other hand the depend for Armour tapes have gone down since Armour smith’s are capping experimentation with the points they have. (Expect the price to go up once better resources spawn). DE, Structure, and tailor do not sell for much, while Shipwright, Medical, and Chef usually sell pretty well.

9. I just looted a Weapon\Armour Assembly +25 Ca, am I rich or what?
What. Assembly has never sold has well has Experimentation and now may even be worth less due to crafters not failing on assembly. However it should still sell due to crafters wanting better sucess on the assmembly. Just don't expect 1 million per point.

10. I put the SEA in the wrong object, how do I get it back?
Afraid to say it, but you can’t. Once you put the SEA in an object, it is used forever. There is no way to get it back. So be very careful when moving your SEA around in inventory. Many a people have accidentally placed it in that piece of clothing they didn’t want it in.

11. What happens if my clothing or Armour reach’s 0 condition, do my SEA’s still work?
Currently they do, but sooner or later the Dev’s will fix the bug that allows you to equip 0 condition items, which will then render them unusable. So be warned, don’t place that +25 whatever in something with 79 condition left.

12. Where can I loot these tapes?!?!!1?!!?!1.99!?!
All NPC’s (Non Player Character’s) have a chance to drop them. The higher the level of the NPC, the higher the Mods can be (Ex. A Cl or Combat Level 35 might drop a +5, while a CL 80 +15).

Popular NPC’s to hunt for SEA’s are:

Night sister‘s- Found all over Dath. And can be found at several POI’s in you data pad. They range from CL 77-84. They drop CA/AA’s of around +14. Can be soloed by a CL 80, but generally better to have a group. They also have a chance of dropping Crystal’s ( Used in Light saber’s), Armour Enhancers (Used when crafting Armour), Pole arms ( Looted weapons are not worth it now), Credits up to 2k and low to 100 a kill, and other random loot’s.

Aa’kuan’s- Found on Talus. Has a POI cave that is pretty much camped on all servers. Also can take missions for them (Player Cities only?). They have a pretty decent drop rate for their Cl, which are around CL 17-28. They Drop SEA’s around +5. Other loots include Aa’kuan rings (+5 ranged defense and can wear two), various modded clothing (None are worth much), and other random loot’s

Faction NPC’s ( Imperial and Rebel) -Taken from both mission’s and PVE player base’s. The higher Cl faction NPC’s can drop up to +14 CA/AA’s. Random loot can also be gotten from them, plus the gained faction points.

Corvette (Rebel confirmed, Imperial maybe?, Neutrals don’t drop them) - Personally confirm that the NPC’s on the Rebel Corvette can drop up to + 14 CA/AA’s. Will probably need a group for this though and can only stay up for an hour at a time before you must get a new ticket. Watch out for the Super battle druids, which atm are impossible to defeat. Other loots are a rifle Schematic, random loots, and the famed AV-21 power plant gained from lootable containers on the Vette.

Nyax - Found at his POI on Corellia. He is a low level boss type at the end of his little cave. Usually camped, he has a respawn of about 2 and a half hours. I don’t recommend trying for him for SEA’s. Decent loot drops are few and far between and he is camped by afk campers almost always. Other loot’s are Grenades, weapons, and other junk.

Krayts - Found north of Bestine and at the Krayt graveyard POI. They all have a slight chance of dropping up to +15 CA/AA’s. Not very often, but other loot’s are Tissue ( Used in weapon Crafting), Armour enhancers (Armour crafting), Pearls (Light saber’s), and other random loots. Usually need a group, and they are fun to do.

Mauraders - Found on Endor. Both random spawns and two POI's under their names. You can also get mission's for them, with mission Mauraders tending to have less ham then their Wild conterparts. Known to drop up to +14 with a Cl of around 77-81. These are best done in a group. Also drops random junk loot.

Attacking Sith (FS Phase 4) - Found on Dath at the Force Senstive Village during Phase 4. These are Cl 77-78 and drop up to +16. Other loots inculde Junk weapons, FS crafting resources, and other junk.

Nym NPC's - Found on Lok {CL55-58} drop attachments +12.

Canyon Cosair Captains - Found on Lok {CL44} drop attachments up to +13.

Marooned NPC's - Found On Lok{CL33-37} drop attachments up to +7

13. I need xxx type of SEA, which NPC drop’s it more (Ex. Jedi CA’s)
All NPC’s have a random chance to drop SEA’s, of the SEA’s they drop, all are random to drop a certain type. There are NO specific type of NPC’s to hunt for specific SEA’s. It’s all up the luck of the draw.

14. I see a lot of +25 CA/AA’s, where can I get them?
Dark Jedi Knights and Master’s can drop them. With a Cl in the upper 200’s. They can be found has random spawns on Dant. and a mission from the the Imperial Prison on Dath. spawns them (Due to LOS bugs, this mission is hard to get). These are not to be taken lightly, usually incaping the bravest fighter in one hit. So how do you take them? A Master defender with an avoid Incap macro can do it with force being feed to him. ( Avoid Incap will soon be placed on a timer, probably making this useless). Also ranged people with roots can root the DJK/DJM and deal damage without being touched, once root runs off, just reapply. They also have a chance of dropping Premium crystals, wound packs (Useless!!), and other junk loots. (HAS OF June 1st, DJM/DJK's no longer drop SEA's of +25, they do however drop +15's.)

15. How much is this attachment worth?
The price will vary server to server. It is best to ask for a price check on your server's trade forum's

16. If I take mission's for Lvl 80 NPC's, will they drop +16 SEA's?
It depends on what the orginal level of the NPC's are. Mission Aa'kuan's will still only drop +5 tapes even if you take mission's for Lvl 80. The reason for this is that base NPC level is what accounts when factoring loot tables. So a wild spawn NPC of lvl 27, will still only drop loot according to if you were Looting a lvl 27, even if the mission lvl is 80 or higher. (Thanks to Droid327) Has of Patch 19, Combat level is now taken into account for the loot the NPC's will drop. Meaning a CL 80 will now have the chance to drop +14 or higher SEA's.

17.I hunted and killed all the NPC's on your list, how come I did not loot any SEA's?
The key to SEA hunting is time and kills. Do not expect to go out for an hour and come back with an inventory full of SEA's. No matter what you kill, the drop rate for SEA's are not high. So alotof time and effort goes into hunting these down. I have gone over 250 kills without looting one SEA and other times I have looted 4 or 5 in the space of half an hour. So with a little bit of luck, some skill, and a lot of patience, You to can loot SEA's like a Professional Loot Hunter.

you should mention that it takes BASE NPC level into account when factoring loot tables...that is, a lvl 80 Aakuan you pull from a mission will still only drop +5 max tapes, because it uses the same loot table as the CL17-25 "natural" Aakuans. This makes taking NPC missions at level 80 less than profitable, unless you take your missions from NPC cities on starter worlds where the missions are level-capped

Excellent guide. Just a couple of points. You can get missions for endor marauders too and the mission ones tend to have roughly half the health of wild spawn/cave ones. Also in my experience the phase4 sith drop up to +16 mods , the same level as NS protectors used to drop (this was pre-cu tho).

The quest you are talking about is for Dark Jedi Knight's and Master's.
It's kinda hard to get the quest started do to LOS bugs with npc's and you have to be imperial.
Rumor's are afloat that the devs will start cracking down on the people who keep dropping the mission to farm the DJK/DJM's. But odds are it's not true.

so you can't do the quest unless you are imperial jedi? darn, oh well. what is my next best option for high/double mod AA's and CA's??

edit: i think i read your post wrong. the quest is to go kill the DJM and DJK which drop the AA's right? so you only have to be imperial to do the quest then?

you have to be imp to get the quest
you have to be a mdef or a rooter to actually kill the jedi, they're level 289 IIRC and they hit for 35k a round, so the only way to kill them is with AI or not letting them get within melee range ever, ever

Ok here's my spittle on the matter:

1-good

2-good

3- might add backpacks have sockets and do not/will not take SEAs

4-Highest to lowest then alphabetically for any like #s

5-this also applies to clothing with BE modding, if you apply any SEA to an item with the same mod from anything only the highest will stick

6-this includes BE mods as well, the cap from mods is +25 no matter where it comes from

7-it is only thought the extra 5 helps, most max to 25 because it is the max..not because it helps

8-sigh I wont even start on Exper tapes..there is nothing, repeat, nothing a Tailor has to exper on anymore.

9-assembly is not worthless, just because critical fails are gone does not mean people do not want amazing success.{it is also rumored for Tailoring to help with getting 4sox more often}

10-good

11-can't wait for this one to be fixed...REPAiR YOUR STUFF OFTEN PEOPLE & INSURE IT

12- I dont do loot, just clothing

Do not forget, there is a limit to how many mods an item is allowed to carry- if your pants have 4 BE mods you can only sink 2 more mods into them via SEA... even if you drop in 4 the first highest 6 is it

oh before I forget:

Thanks Ani_cul, Updated with your help.
The problem with the clickies, is that alot of the information is now wrong due to the Combat Upgrade changing the system a bit.
