Treasure Maps should be fun and exciting, instead of yay I got a stick and a CDEF!

So here is a proposal I saw on the Farstar Forum, different level Treasure Maps, with top level maps offering top level loot with different difficulty spawns to defeat to retrieve the loot.

Come on dev's make treasure hunting fun, and worthwhile, we dont like the goons that spawn dying in 1 hit, and we dont like the CDEF you get.

I think most ppl probably just delete them (at least i know i do, along with any other form of disk i loot), same as they do with locked containers (it just ain't worth the inventory space).

I mean you often get more worthwhile loot of the Mob's that spawn !!!!!

But maybe if they were more interesting, then ppl would spend the time and effort with them.

So yes - Not that i really think petitions do much, as they seem to get as ignored as do a lot of things, I agree Make Treasure Maps more fun. Perhaps a quest.... (can't be that hard to get some guy thinking up new quests for each publish and getting rid of the last lot) since how many of these do you get in a 'NORMAL' gaming session (not a meatlump macro execution spree)

yupI did a few in the early days, now I can't delete them fast enough, now If the odd map poped out a D10 or Scythe schematic I could be tempted out of treasure hunting retirement....

Back in the day when I used to do these hunts 90% you got crap, but I have gotten crystals, holocrons and some pretty unique clothing from them, so I keep my treasure maps...dunno if I might try my luck again lol

As a Master Marksman and Commando, I'm tired of wasting my time with these things in hope I'd get something decent or worth selling for 3k on the bazaar. Instead I get useless sticks and CDEFs. Fix these things up, make the loot worth it and the NPC's more tougher.

One of my very first experiences in SWG was with one of these maps and it was exciting. Of course this was back at publish and i was a total n00b.

The first time I did a treasure map, I gota CA along with some other junk. I can't remember the mods, but at the time, I thought "woooo.... neat!"

Now I just put treasure maps in bazaar. They have a tendency to sell quickly.

1st treasure map I ever did - the scythe quest (as a fresh-faced young noob, knowing nothing of what I was doing...)! I honestly thought every one would be like that, oh the disappointment!

Treasure maps are good for newbies who A) can't afford a whole lot, B) need some combat EXP, and C) want to have a little fun.

About a week ago I tried a treasure map after not doing one for a few months. The normal three thugs spawned, which all went down with one shot each from my DL44. Opened the treasure chest and it had a full set of clothes (robe, pants, shoes, gloves andshirt) and it also had a carbine in it... I can't remember what it was, but I don't think it was a CDEF. I was thinking "dang, this is a newbie's dream. A new outfit and a weapon. " But as I usually do with treasure chests, I just left the stuff there and walked away.

But it would be cool for higher-level disks that bring higher-level spawns and better loot. Perhaps even some for groups of people.

I also wish that we could actually pick up the treasure chest containers and put them in our house. Never could understand why we can't.

I am told another MMO has different levels, and that the top levels require groups to collect, would make group hunting and the old problems of loot camping and kill stealing disappear overnight.
