Then why did I get AAs with +3s to ranged def, 2h speed, and weapon expir from the treasure maps?

I think there should be loot unique to locked containers and treasure maps.

I have never seen a map in the current system go above a +3 AA or CA
Harder maps, bigger prizes, could be like a treasure hunt, location1 leads you to location2, to location 3 (each with there own challenges) and then up spawns the final challenge and you / group get a reward

I agree with your views on the map, would make it more fun.
I always take the time to do the maps as in the pass I have gotten 2 crystals a crappy green one and a nice 1235 yellow, not to mention the REALLY nice +9 pistol speed CA.
Given 93.5% of the time its all cr*p... but sometimes you it pays off...

Although i have done a hundred maps and the best i ever got was a +4 rifle accuracy AA, i have a gamblers heart and still find myself reading that disk and storing the wp......1 thing along with the idea of higher level mobs dropping higher level maps , has anyone ever had the problem where you have to keep storing the waypoint?

I wonder what percentage of dev time is spent on follow up fixes - I know right now the main focus is on the combat system but there are a lot of little things like this that really could make the game so much more interesting. One of my other private progress watches is players fullness (food and drink) after you die - it stinks that you are still full from brandy and canape for ~30 minutes after you get killed.
I agree though - maps could be so much more then they are now - I delete them as a rule, to many disappointments.

/sign i still love doing them with my non combat characters or my low lvl combat characters...i know they suck but it is fun just doin it...i do love the idea of havin different lvl of them...so maybe my master tka will have a challenge then blowin on them and killin them in one hit...these are the only data disk i save...because the others are a pain to collect and what for only few credits...and i dont destroy containers they make good decorations and i love slicin them. the problem is that u dont get good loot with them most of the time u get stuff that no one wants... it is funny when u get another locked container in the container.

If done right they could act like Galaxy wide, incident based events, take away the need to out click the borgle cave campers!

I agree that treasure maps need looking at. My idea would be to make some of them like the imp/ reb disks that you have to assemble. Maybe have them send you to a specific planet and begin searching for the treasure when you arrive there. Another idea would be to use one, dig up the container and find the next part of the map and so on, with the spawns becoming progressively tougher.
