Not sure where to put this, but here works I guess.

Not sure about other servers, but AD kits jave sold anywhere from 6-15mil on Tarquinas. There are a few people buying these up and these tend to be people with multiple toons and already have multiple AD kits of their own.

Does it bother anyone that SOE has essentially created a system where 1 or 2 or 10 people per server can have Armor + Uber Weapons all of which will last forever and never decay?

I guess people that can do this never had to worry about buying armor, but its kinda annoying and a little scary to be honest that someone can equip a toon now with a complete set of items that will never ever decay.

Hopefully the Combat Fix will change whats important and take some uber equipment out of the game as people destroy it to get the AD kits back, but kinda scary to see toons running around with every peice of armor a psg and an absurd weapon that will never decay and is in the game forever. While the rest of us fight decay in our normal armor and weapons that you can actually watch disintigrate as you fight mobs.

Lets consider the math on this one. On my server, kettemoor, a 90% chest plate costs about 700k. A mini suit (helmet, boots, gloves and chest) probably runs about 3 million. Decay kits are around 12-15 million. So in order to insure 3 million worth of armor, rich guy( who we all hate because he is rich) would need to spend about 50-60 million. This means that the rich guy could have worn out and replaced his armor about20 times for the same price paid for decay kits. If a RIS suit were to be so insured, the numbers would come out at about: 108-135 million. A suit of ris costs about 40 million, so you couldbuy 3full suits for the price of eternaling one suit. If you are very rich, and wish to make a savy investment, i advise you against eternaling your armor.

All an anti-decaying suit does with armor is provide convienence and status to the owner. Very convenient, because one no longer needs to monitor and replace pieces. It obviously provides a lot of status, because people who don't have such affluence are extremely jelous, as demonstrated by this post. Just like a jet pack is only good because it is cool, eternaled armor is only good because it is cool. Instead of writing your congressman about the alleged abuses of the rich, just buy your 90% comp, and snicker because you know you are getting a much better deal than the rich.

Weapons, of course, are a whole different issue. With weapons, ADKs are a very good investment. However, once you get past eternaling your best weapon, you are really deminishing the value of any additional kits used for weapons. PvP, as it presently exists, consists of intimidate, KD (if possible), DOT, pull high damage weapon and bash a lot. PvE consists of intimidate, targetpool and bash with your best weapon. Since ADKs don't protect dots, the value of eternaling your second best weapon is very questionable, since you will probably not use it enough that it will decay anyway.

you have already sold your decay kit, yes, you are defenently going to have less non decaying kits than someone who has kept theirs(1 > 0). If, on the other hand, you still have yours, you have the same ability to cary a non-decaying weapon as the rich. The only difference is the weapon the kit is put on. If your weapon is not as good as Miss Rich, and you are angry about that, you are jelous, plain and simple. My advice would be to askMiss Richwhat she did to gether weapon, then emulateher untill you get one of your own.

The very wealthy are assured long-term subscribers. There's nothing to make them want to quit, so naturally if the Devs make decisions that benefit them, they'll remain happy even if they're secretly bored simply because their bankroll commands respect.

Small-timers (and this includes people from 50k to 50 million), on the other hand, are expendable.

If the loot flow remains nerfed, the super-rich will have a nice secure perch for quite some time to come.

That's pretty much the big thing. The CU is pretty much going to make most of the stuff that the wealthy have anti decayed worthless. The way I understand it you will need/want to have different types of weapons and armor for different situations. Or maybe it's the same weapon but a few set up with the different settings for the new armor piercing system. (you'll have to excuse me, cause the "science" behind all this makes no sense to me )

I honestly don't care what people did or do with their vet rewards or their credits.

I agree that the trade of the kits have made those with the credits a bit more "invunerable", but I've also seen those with very little double or tripple their monies simply by selling, or even re-selling them.

I have seen it time and time again in the past: the rich have maintained their wealth at the expense of those without, as will occur eith any economy. But the flip side of this coin is that everyone, regardless of current wealth, has been awarded a shot at one of these kits. The sale of these kits to those who already have large sums has, in several cases, alowed for a redistribution of wealth at a time when the servers' economies are being reset to a lower number. The loss of solo-group credit grindsalready started to change the way in which money is entering the system. This can allow those with little chance in the past for generating large sums of credits a free oppertunity to move some of that wealth off of the 5-10% who had it. If invested properly in items that can be resold or otherwise increase the income of one of these people in the future...

The old adage "It takes money to make money" applies even in our simulated economy. Using the millions gained by these sales to ensure you can maintain a higher standard of living through reinvestment of these "found funds" will allow many to move up in the ecenomic scale, while at the same time closing the gap a little between the middle and upermost classes (financially speaking).

Had this system been limited to only those who could afford these kits in the first place, say by forcing the vetrans to spend credits to obtain their reward, this would have only increased the lop-sidedness of the economies. By allowing us all an equal shot at obtaining one, this has only moved to improve the standing of each player, either by selling the kit for "fast cash", or by using the item the kit is applied to for a lower cost of living. Not needing to replace one's best weapon is a sure-fire means of keeping the money you make in your own hands.

As a smuggler, I have already seen some of this in action: I now have a far broader customer base, with a larger amount of "disposable funds" investing those new monies into items that will help them earn more (FP and an ATST, or even an opposing base to farm). That money spent has improved my economic base stedaly, and in tern given them access to items that have also increased their daily earnings.

But then, not all will see the success of their investments, particularly if the funds gained through the sale of one of these kits is squandered. Keep in mind also that not only the AD kits, but also 30k resource and self-power kits are commanding prices in the millions. Even the sale of one of these cas make a dramatic change in the owner's lifestyle in-game.

well... at least even youre poor like a church mouse (i dont know if that translation makes sense) you have at least 1 adk for yourself no one can take you away (when you are long enough in the game). so i dont see a problem. you also cant write a letter to the president of your home country and tell him that you recently saw that there are some people out there who can buy themself a few cars but you can only buy one, that doesnt make sense...

Its true that all the wealthy will have super armour and weapons...but it also means that veterans who never usually have cash can get 10-15m for just logging on.

Its spreading the wealth around the server a bit, although the crafters will get their hands back on the cash again im sure people will have fun spending.
