did you loot it from a dark jedi knight spawned from talking to an npc in dath prison? If so, that's the quest item

So you think :-) If you assemble those fragments, you will see the sith holocron. The sith holocron image thats in the client files has the exact same markings and shapes of those fragments. Could it be that you need to get them assembled? Dunno.....

Um.. there's a big difference between a sith holocron and a sith altar.. they might be red, which is the only similarity, but Sith holocrons in game are in one piece, not pieces

Lets see, Altar, big stone where you worship/sacrifice.. Holocron, little pyramid used to learn from a dead master Sith/Jedi

OMG, I can't believe I fell for it... Dark Jedi Holocrons... they're not called Sith Holocrons.. there's a difference between a SITH Altar and a DARK JEDI Holocron, BIG difference

If you look closely at the pattern on the Holocron Splinters from the criminal NPC you will see that it is definitly part of the Sith Holocron. Perhaps the bump map in the client files is only used on small fragment objects, or perhaps there ae several different 'pieces' of the Sith Holocron and it can be repaired.

psst, no such thing as Sith holocron.. its Dark Jedi Holocron.. There is a difference between a dark jedi and a Sith.. There are sith altars, but they're totally unrelated to a Dark Jedi... Sith do not necessarily have to be Dark Jedi.. Emperor Palpatine is a prime example, he was NEVER a Jedi, he only trained in the Dark Side of the force and was taught, or learned the Sith secrets

Yes, the holocron fragments resemble the DARK JEDI Holocron (red pyramid), but are totally unrelated to the SITH altar he found
