Thread: For pity's sake, can we do something about the AFK looters?

On my server, there are several toons that will go AFK in front of known loot spots/boxes, where they then control that spot until either,

the server reboots or they get disconnected somehow.

Now, we all know no one is going to stand in one spot for HOURS on end to click the box, then click the loot.

They must be using a Third-party macro program to automate this. Which is against the rules.

They don't repspond to tells. they don't move, they just loot and loot. Then, in a few days, you go to their vendor and they have every single thing listed for $$$.

It's so bad in the night sister camp, that the looters have the elder spawn down to the exact minute, and will log in just before she does, in order to loot her.

Due to the low CL of several caves, they can sit there unmolested.

The Jedi cloakers and smuggler feign death users are all ready starting to auto-loot the DWB, and what makes this worst, is that everytime they loot the boxes, a Super Battle droid is spawned.

My group went there and found 10! SBD's and one AFK cloaker.

We have sent in tickets, I have tried to talk to the CSR in chat, I even sent Tiggs a PM on chat, yet these guys are just sitting there ruining it for real players.

Would be nice if they ever did something about this type of stuff.

But.... they never do.

i doubt its a 3 party macro these sort of macros are easy these days plus we all know these ppl have no lives

Actually, it is.

The ingame macro program will not allow you to "double-click" on boxes to open them. Which is required to loot from them.

Nor is there one that will allow you to "double-click" on the loot once the box is open. Unlike a corpse where you can automate the /loot command, you cannot do the same for these loot containers.

Only a third party macro recorder can do this "double-click", which is against SOE policy.

So - they are not only ruining the fun of honest adventurers, they are breaking the rules stated everytime they log in doing this.

/agree

I like to add that they are ruining the bussiness for the "honest adventurers" to... well everything get lower prices by time butprobably not that fast, if there wouldn't have been afk looters.

it's 2 am on my server in real time.

the same afk looter is there.

and I just got back a CSR response for my ticket - "AFK looting is not against SOE policy...." - this CSR then closed the ticket...

so much for that help. The guy probably didn't even go look, again, this is not corpse looting.... this is looting from a box - which is impossible to do without third party macro programs. (unless of course you want to believe someone is actually atk clicking on the box and loot every 10 mins or so for seven hours....)
