Ok - you have nothing to add to this.

Explain what "skill" this person is doing standing by a loot box and afk-looting it for hours on end? Is it "skill" to cheat the system and use a third-party macro to keep looting AFK?

Your in denial if you think this is "skill"

Perhaps in your muddled thinking this is "skill" but judging by your reply, you have bigger things to worry about.

We have to try and remember that SWG is a side-project; meant to run on auto-pilot, except for the patches (which are usually just major nerfs, minor-bug-fixes, and misc nonsense), and the CSRs, which are mostly from India, and only know what they are told (not much).

There are a surprisingly few people actually running SWG, and they do not respect Anglo-"first-world-ers", which comprise most of their consume base.

They are also not "gamers" and do not share our 'nonsense' view of "cosumer rights" nor "work ethic".

Instead, they hire go-between that usually don't know much more than they tell us about

-such as our beloved tiggs

-whom takes way more heat than she deserves.

She doesn't run SWG, let alone attend the power-meatings.

And she is not a DEV.

In fact, the DEVS are bound by such strict non-disclosure agreements, that "even if" they wanted what WE want ... on so many points ...

they'd be bound by contract to remain silent.

The SOE headsare filthy rich. totally self-involved. And cannot relate to our reality.

Most of their decisions are made in power-meetings with other rich non-gamers, and most of theircommands areissuedvia satalite uplinks from private yachts, docked off of exotic island ports.

In the end,

SOE is not against "hiring" people that care ..

they are just against "empowering" them to act on it.

And SOE doesn't have enough faith in the long-term "prospects of profitability" of this net-based gaming platform...

in order to justify putting any more time or money into it, then they already have to.

yeah tarquinas has its share of looters that are always at the same spots 24/7. Makes me sick that they keep selling stuff and people are stupid enough to buy the stuff.

Haha,

Those Aa'kuancave campers are funny... Everybody should just stop buying non-jedi SEAs with mods lower than +6...

I don't understand why they camp there. But I took a few screenies everytime I went there just because I don't like AFK loot campers. Same guy 4 days in a row in the group lol.

Anyway, in a week and a half I looted far more valuable SEAs Silly campers.

Oh and using macros or 3rd party software to automate this isn't uber/hardcore/l33t. You just either get told how to do it from a friend or searched the net and found a guide. Unless you actually wrote the application to perform these tasks, you are not *insert-random-uberness-term* Those are not "skills"

Yay! Feel better already

Thoughts on solutions:

1) (duh) Randomize spawn times for key loot NPCs/creatures

2) High level NPCs break cloak (e.g. wrt above, SBDs would be a start)

3) Timer on Feign Death (why lay around all day dead?), or smart NPCs that randomly attempt a deathblow on corpses

4a) Looping macros can only be recursively called X times (X = 10?) before they need to be called again

4b) Alternatively, only allow elite crafting professions to use looping macros (this should muck up most templates designed for looting)

5) Build in detection to discover campers (ie. the last50 kills were from the same logical spawn) and start spawning silly-high level creatures (dis-incentive to camp the same spot, which will almost guarantee death)

Not to say i agree with the afk looters. But it is possible that they are doin this using no third party macro, even the loot of boxes. For the killing of spawns just /ui action cycleTargetInward then some attack commands and then /loot, then loop the macro. For the boxes just place your cursor over the box and use the ingame command /ui action targetAtCursor, then loot. Also if he was just looting the same box, he could just target the thing at the begining then have a loot command looping.

Now the only problem he would have is if invetory was filling, he could check ever so often or have a thirdparty macro running for that to clear it, probaly by check some color at a point and the deleting it if it didnt match what he wanted.

In the end it still sucks, and nothing is going to be done about it, so either join them or stay on the high ground and choose to not buy there crap like alot of us do. On my server there is on person with 4 alts that never leaves the Akuaan Cave, never bought a ca/aa from the guy.

I accidentally got an AFK camper killed when I tossed a heal on them. One of the mobs aggroed on me but turned it's attention back on the camper after hitting me twice but without me hitting back. Unfortunately I was behind the camper and their macro apparently couldn't turn them around to shoot anything behind them.

I could have healed them again but I wasn't aware they were AFK at the time and fully expected them to kill the NPC *shrug*.

Perhaps if you go afk for more than 1.5 hours in the game you should appear on the mission terms for BH's. If you're not inside a house that is...

Now that it's OK to support the removal of classes in your signature, I firmly support the removal of all the benny hill glowstick fanclub from the game; it was a lot more fun before they came.
