Thread: AA/CA cap

I know basic profession skills cap at +25 for ca/aa mods, but does this go for general speed/acc aa/ca's?

I am building a new armor suit and can go as high as +45 to general melee speed, was just wondering if it will be whacked by diminishing returns?

Thanks for the help...

i've heard that general ranged accuracy can go on to infinite... i really don't know how you guys can prove that it does or doesn't. i just heard that everything is capped at +25 except general ranged accuracy... if that's true it's probably the same for general melee accuracy, but i'm not sure about general speed.

there is no speed cap...just diminishing returns...eventually it gets to be pointless to add more tapes

there IS a +25 hard cap on ALL speed and accuracy mods....

diminishing returns refers to the fact that you get a lot less bonus for going from 120 to 140 than you do than going from 20 to 40....that is, that more points gives less bonus per point. But you still have a +25 cap from SEA/BE mods, even if its erroneously displaying more; you still only get abonus for the first 25

Does the cap for tapes/BE clothes include weapons with skill mods? Ie if i have a suit with +25 rifle speed, will a rifle that has a rifle speed mod actually add to stats?

I am pretty sure that weapons are included in the +25 cap.

did some experimentation with this.

at plus twenty five got a huge bonus. at plus fifty three got a five point bonus over the plus twent five.

so you do get some more speed, but it is really low bonus.

The cap is just for BE/SEA mods.....foods, mod stims, and modded weapons dont count AFAIK

and nobira....post some more detailed results of your testing. What mods were you using? You have a +53 Rifle Speed suit? Or was that bonus including stims and General Ranged Speed too?

in the CU beta, speed capped out usefulness at about 140. At that point, your fastest specials are firing at about the refresh cap anyway.

I have a suit with many mods in it.

mabari belt plus 8 polearm speed plus 5 general melee speed

dark sash plus 19 polearm speed

Suit of armor

left bracer plus 5 polearm speed

right bracer plus 5 polearm speed

left bicep plus 6 polearm speed

right bicep plus 4 polearm speed

chest plate plus 4 polearm speed

leggins plus 2 polearm speed

when just wearing the belt and sash dps is raised by 130 dps

when wearing the full suit and belt and sash dps is raised by 135dps

none of this includes food, stims, buffs,

so as you can see it does help but does not add that much

its a display bug anyway....you can pile a suit full of +25 speed mods, and it will show your DPS going up, since its just a calculation based on your weapon speed mods in the GUI, but when you actually try to fire your gun that fast it wont.

Besides, unless you're only novice marksman, you'll reach the hard cap for your weapon pretty quick anyway
