Thread: Petition to Remove High-End Loot from STATIC Spawns

I think that the camping game is detrimental to the game as a whole. There is a whole world (actually, 10 worlds) to explore, but 0.01% of that is actually used because all the "uber loot" is in a few spots where people line up to kill the same spawn over and over again to get the same loot. Nothing but an assembly line. Many people absolutely love this and will likely flame me, but I just don't see how they can call it fun (or worse, some of them don't even want to have "fun" put into their little power game.)


The basic premise is to have loot dropping spawns be randomly scattered throughout the galaxy. Once killed, they respawn somewhere totally different. This way people actually have to have the initiative to go out looking for a fight, not going to the same cave and killing the same MOB for the 1000th time. This also kills the AFK game, and the loot monopolies that currently exist.


The goal of this is:


  • No more AFK loot bots.

  • No more camping the one NPC who drops something.

  • No more cornering the market anitem.

  • Making it so people actually venture out to different places.

The goal of this is NOT:



  • Giving everyone more stuff, the expected drops per day per item should not change.

  • Making it easier for "lower level" people to get "higher level" items. The difficulty of things that drop stuff will be the same.

well ive got to withdraw my sign as i have found nyax is not the only thing that drops awsome stuff just get out and adventure go to some less populated planets or poi's you will be suprised w/ the rewards you can reap ppl are to conserned w/ 1 or 2 spawns everything drops just gotta find it

I would be against the removal of high-end loot from spawn points. I do not think that is the solution, nor do I believe that players that have spent the time and credits to put out lots of damage should be punished.....


That said, LONG TERM AFK campers need to be nerfed, perhaps with a timer or an uber mob spawn. Just my humble opinion on the matter.

Loot dropping spawns ARErandomly scattered through the galaxy.



The trouble is that afewpeople posting on this board seem to have got it into their heads that there is only one NPCin one place that ever drops loot.


There already are many many other places where you can fightthings that will drop nice loot and they don't all have 350k HAM (although those are more fun ).


Granted spawn rates are not always that great , but apprently the devs are "working" on this and there's always missions that can give up great loot.


I'll just put a few examples in here....


Nightsisters , Singing Mountain Clan , Blacksun , Endor marauders , Krayts , Corvette , Deathwatch , Nyms , Mercs , Tuskens , Janta , Force Sensitive NPCs, Sith NPCs etc. etc.

Well, my friends killed a Tuscan observer and got a CDEF pistol. As long as this sort of thing happens people will go where there loot is more likely to be uber.

So they killed one NPC and got something crappy , it happens all the time. Good loot is a BONUS to your adventuring , not a right.

Your petition is complete and udder rubbish.


1. You mean Lair Boss Spawns right? I dont see too many people complaining about Meatlumps being camped. Thats a static spawn. The Lair boss is the one with a timer and is mostly camped / afk camped.


2. I think this is more of a personal vendetta for you rather than anything else. You probably had a bad experience at a Boss spawn and think there is something unfair going on. Its not like they are loot stealing/grieving. Those people are there for the same thing that you are probably there for.


3. The game will drastically change after the CU. So dont give the development team something new to break. You know they never get anything right the 1st time. So what they break today probably wont get fixed until 6 months down the road. Then you will be complaining how your "now fair spawn" doesnt spawn.


4. Last but not least. If you are seriously sick of afk spawn campers. This is the perfect opprotunity to implement the sacred act of "Guild Event". It seems like your out trying to kill the Lair Bosssolo.That is the 1st sign of camper syndrome. So basically your in camper training, but it seems the vets are out and pissing you off. So "Organize and Overcome". Share the rewards and most of all HAVE FUN.

This was not a comment to support a particular view, only to state a fact. As long as you get crappy loot from uber mobs that spawn countryside you will probably go where the spawns are set. Thats all.

Punished how? By actually having to go out and look for a fight? Will non-static spawns make you deal less damage?

I don't see how you can think playing the game AFK (except where the design of the game forces it to be needed for the world to function, i.e. dancers and doctors, which will hopefully be fixed with the CU) is acceptable for any length of time.

If 99% of high-end loot was dropped by dynamic spawns, that 1% would still be a problem.

Including, but not exclusively. Excactly as stated above, anything that is static should not drop high-end loot. I don't like AFK campers of anything, but AFK camping anything of value (more than enough meatlumps to go around)is far worse.

Never been to one, don't have any interest in going to one. The GCW is the place for me (I've been waiting 2 years for it to beput back inthe game... Finally!) My complaint is purely economic and in the interest of game balance.

The AFK camper would still exist, and I have a problem with that. My guild will be toobusy having funkilling Imperials to waste time with your lair bosses.

your right.. lets take out ALL the caves and bunkersin the game and have them all running around and have even less of a feel for the game. that should make everyone more excited. and while ur at it lets have no more POIs just because a few people think that because they can't get loot its the other people's fault that camp. Yes i disagree with AFK camping, but no, if someone earned or looted a weapon that can outdamage u they have a RIGHT to camp a spot and get the loot because they worked for their status. Just because u dont want to play as much and complain doesnt mean u should get all the good stuff handed to u. IMO making nyax spawn faster was stupid. now he drops SEAs pretty often and now people bicker and complain and fight about it. The poor still can't get SEAs and the elite rich people are getting better with the loots and getting richer. it didnt help anything like people said it would, and i disagreed from the start.


Not trying to put down anyone's ideas but seriously, if someone plays harder then u to get better then they completely deserve to camp the spawn a few hours (no not days or AFK). in fact i dont even understand what the fun in AFK camping or monopolizing a spawn for days is.


My idea: put nyax's spawn time back to the old way and maybe this childish bickering can stop.
