Right from the Dev chat:
[17:31] *HadoVebeap* Hi Swg Dev's, are there any news if you will add something worth to be hunted? Atm only Bh mark drop highend stuff, this is pretty unfair for everyother prof. Are there any plan if NS or other high end mobs will finaly drop something usefull again?
[17:32] We've definitely got high-end loot planned for ToW, and for a variety of professions In addition to combat loot, expect to see some collectable, unique loot.
Right now the loot is pathetic. There isn't much worth hunting out there. Before that we had krayts, nightsisters, black suns, aakuans, the corvette, the dwb.
Sure Black Suns and the DWB are still supposed to drop stuff but the drop rate is ridiculous. A mate killed +800 black suns so far and has yet to get a single jetpack base.
So if you want some loot buy the expansion. Woot! *rollseyes*

Last night my guild went on a little BS hunt and one of the items looted was a jetpack base! So they do drop, but as you said, the drop rate is cr*p

well expect to find out very soon how good the loot in the expansion is as they have started sending out beta confirmations

After this chat i asked the same dev some more questions:

[03:24] <Neif> Yeah we'll always be adding loot through the whole game, not just through expansions. Besides, with cool loot drops from Mustafar, you should see that loot make it's way onto the original planets through traders. Just check with some players who have visited there once it's released.

So to me this sounds like you need to buy the expansion to loot good stuff of "old" mobs at the "old" planets...
And it seems like the GWC will stay like it is now for a while...

I wouldn't read too much into it. I "think" what he meant is you have to buy the game to get your hands on the NEW loot. He hasn't gotten the question if there will be any loot fix on the old planets.

All in all I'd say RotW was worth it's money. The quests were fun and the loot was good. (I love my chiss backpack)
The only gripe was the lack of stuff for crafters. Everything looted there is pretty good, should have been more schematics.

meh...
RotW brought a bunch of useless loot to the game...shaman windchime anyone?
Instead of giving us LD-1 rifle and Other cool weps....they shouldve gave us 1-5 time use schems for the weps...cause that wouldve made everything better.
Only thing thats good about RoTw is the jedi starfighter ship lol...

the statement of getting good loot thru traders on original planets was easily the stupidest thing i have ever read. that statement proves that these morons have co clue what their direction is nor how this game works since they do not play....obviously.

Well its all about the $.... If you want some of the new loot, well then you need to buy ToW or buy it from someone that has ToW. But in the end its all about $.... wouldnt be surprised if they in the future did so you had to have the expansion to use the loot/items you get from the future expansions just to make a profit from it...
