Star trek online... wow, see at first i thought you were kidding, then i realized you werent. If a star trek game interests you *shudders* ,then SWG might not be for ya
Seriously tho, i feel your pain on the rich get richer stuff. I giggle everytime i see some dude buying vet rewards for a fraction of their real worth at a starport. But i guess if someone is foolish/clueless enough to sell it to them for that amount its their own fault really. harsh but true.
And although the storage in SWG has gotten better, its still ridiculously low for many crafters. Either give crafters more storage or reduce the MASSIVE amount of storage space required to be a serious crafter/merchant. For example... make ALL crates hold 100 and all resources hold 1million. this alone would resolve nearly all of the crafter storage issues.

The static spawns campers and the city advancement limitations are the main problems. Your right that its retarded for people to loot a 2000+ damage powerhammer that allows them to OWN a static spawn until they feel like leaving. And its also plain insane for cities that are at the minimum distance from Coronet to get Shuttles so that other cities in the middle of no where have thier citizens forced to drive for miles.

I agree with everything you're saying. I refuse to buy buffs or spend a ton of money on armor. What used to be an enjoyable trip across a planet (you have to admit the planet graphics are one of the best things in game) has become a game of "stare at your radar and stear clear of all the yellows that pop up on you because they're going to turn red and aggro you." I read a post a while back from someone who wondered why the deserts of Tatooine were so full. I don't recall seeing Luke race across the desert having to dodge critters and hermits!

So let me get this straight,
You’re a crafter that was exploiting crafting stations in order to store more items then you were supposed to in a house.
And your blaming rich people because master combatants can out damage you, SOE fixed the exploit and you get killed traveling to your house now that spawning works a little.
And I’m with you on the AFK combat thing, I don’t do it, don’t like it, and only have one toon myself but AFK progress is institutionalized through out the game. If Chef/BE can get the same loot as 250pt combatants you might see a bunch of threads saying it’s not fair that Chefs can use factories and vendors to make money while they aren’t even logged on.
And it’s to bad that some city beat you to the shuttle cap and they happen to be at minimum distance, but they beat you and they are at the minimum distance. Maybe you should find a city whose goals are along the same lines as yours, and group with them.
Life isn’t fair neither is this game. It’s one of the things that make this a great game. If the choices we make don’t affect what we can and can’t do then we all end up with equal access to everything. That would just make us carbon copies of each other and would get old real quick
I tried for along time to be crafter/ combatant and it sucked. One foot in each world and I wasn’t good at either. I realized I had more fun with the combat side and dropped my crafting. For me the best decision I made.

I agree with malice about the AFK combat thing.
I have been playign since launch but am still struggling with money because....well mostly because i have never played a MMPORG before and also due to a few bad decisions on my part. Namely going doctor and buying buffs. DOH!!
It is not fair that people use recursive combat macros to camp spawn points and get outrageous amounts of loot and get richer and richer......
I have used afk macros before. not for loot but to get xp. Basically i had my novice commando auto target nunas in theed over night. i dont see problem with this becasue i dont see that i hurt anyone. but if it takes removing looping macros completely to fix the camping problem, i will get over it.
AFK campers take somethign away from eveyone when they do what they do.
I did the geo bunker for the first time a few days ago. It was good fun, i got some little bits fo loot. But what i really wanted to do was fight the acklay. Not specifically for the chance to loot the bones (althoguh it would have been nice) but to be able to say "i killed the acklay". I fouhgt my way through the bunker, finally got to the acklay cave and what did i find? A posse fo afk jedi and riflemen camping the spot. I waited and finally saw the acklay, went to attack, helped kill and got?...........about 300 2-handed xp and nothign else. It is not the fact that i didn't get anythgin that annoyed me though. It was the fact that i wasted my time due to..essentially..a bot. great.
I am looking forward to the combat upgrade with surprising amounts of enthusiasm but if it doesn't pan out the way i am hoping it will, i will be looking forward to the release of middle earth online.

When I started this game is September 2004, I had nothing but the clothes on my back, the weapon in my hand and the Speeder under me. I made cash the slow, honest social way. I joined hunts, got some friends together and used those souless terminals and spent some time in the Med Centre healing wounds for tips.
I've just recently got a ballanced amount of credits to pay for my small house and Guild Hall.
It just makes me so angry that some people in this game make more in a day AFK camping than I have had my entire time in this game.

The Dev's and SOE are nuts right? How the heck are these new loots and all these +10, +15 and higher skills taps going to balance it out?? You have jedi's and ranged combat profs camping 24/7, every single loot place that drops the high end items is camped. HOW THE HECK DOES THIS HELP the econ recover?
Simple, TAKE THE COMBAT macros OUT, or make it so that "loot" can never be added. Its BE and crap that people spend their money to play this game, only to be pushed aside by the ones that have 4 or more alts to camp or all these jedis. Fair? Yeah only to the ones that go afk over night and wake up dead, but with about 100 million in CA's.
PLEASE this is crap. I know ill get flamed by the ones that do the camping cuz in their eyes, they are dong nothing wrong at all. Flame, dont care. I pay for the game and will voice my opinion.
Star Tek Online Beta will be out next year, the rate SWG is going, they are going to loose even more. So Dev's if you wish not to repeat the futrue and loose even more when STO comes out, its best you think of new ways to Balance out the econ, and stop the campers from looting.
To be honest, if your not actually there at the computer, doing the work, you shouldnt not be able to loot at all. Its not fair to bust ass for months to make 3 million to spend aCA, that someone has 15 of cuz they cheat and sit and camp with a jedi allll night long.
I want to try and get more food experi tapes for my chef, but since i only have TK, i was told to forget it, since there are so many campers that unless i have a kick ass rifle, dont bother. HOW THE HELL IS THIS FAIR????
I am not saying that it should be as simple for a noob to get it, thats just nuts, but when u have elite profs, been playing for months, its not right.
Seems to be that DEV's fix what is NOT broken, and forgets what really needs to be done. Was fixing the crafting stations hold items not counted in your house something that was destroying the game?? Was it making the server unstable?? Were people actually sending in emails saying, take away the only free storage we have?? Being a chef with some BE i had to place a guild hall to make my shop and to hold all my extra items. I have to use open lots i have just to place factories down to use for storage. So when it come time, i have no lots to place harvesters or extractors. Again, just another thing that will push people to other games.
Since im on a roll (sorry just need to vent). What the hell is up with planet limits on player build cities. We have a city that is 4000m outside of Mos Eisley. We have enough people to Lvl up to get a shuttle and even to lvl 5. But since there are to many cities with shuttles, our growing city with new people and crafter/vendors falls and dies. But its right for cities that are only 700m away from a startport, have a shuttle. HOW again, do i ask, is their fair to others? Forcing them to move to place they dont want to, or making mayors give up dreams of their city. We have been waiting for over a month now, and only told by DEV's that when a city lessens to a point they loose their shuttle, another city will be able to grow. Um, twin ion or twin suns or any of the other larger cities i really dont see shrinking. So again, the game restricts for advancement.
Another thing, if you got a vet gift, like a mini, DONT RESELL THEM TO THE ONES THAT SPAM AT STARPORTS!!!!! DONT DONT DONT DONT. They are only offering 100-200k for each one, yet i have seen most of these people resell them for 1million to 2.5 million. So again they suck the money from the lessers in order to gain for themselves a great deal. You want mine? 800k each cuz your not the only ones that are going to make bank off them.
Anyway, my whole point is, there is so much in this game right now that is totaly unfair, unless u been playing for 6 months or over a year. Unless you have several alts that u dont need to count on anyone else. Or if you have a jedi. Fix the game, fix the things that NEED TO BE FIXED.
OH here is another one, its BS that you cant even fly around your own city, go into your home, or check your harvesters without being in full armor and buffed. The spawns are just way to much now in the wrong places. Cities, need to be a SAFE ZONE. Not everyone in this game like to wear the same armor as 99% of the population, and not everyone feels the need to have to run to find a buff for 15k, take the time to wait, then find a working mind buffer and try to get buffs without them screwing up (like they still do sometimes), then travel around and get done what u need. Its more BS that ticks people off.
My whole point of this extra long rant is that the DEV's are not looking at the smaller picture here. They are not thinking about things before they release. Great, we get new loot items. Not great when u have UBER people camping for weeks and become MEGA BILLIONAIRS. If i would have started this game with no help (thanks to my friend that got me started and my awsome guild) i would have left a long time ago. But as soon as STO comes out, Good bye SWG if its still like this.
Oh, and whats the point of boards to voice our opionions and ideas on the game when they are not listened to by DEV's?
Thanks for letting me rank, now i guess i go and just sit in my house since i paid for another month of the game.

Ok, AFK campers, unfair, yes. Can we do something about it....YES. Guys, we are making ourselves the victims here. Do what we did on BRIA....get together a huge group with at least 5 jedi, go to the spot grouped and have at it. Agree to who gets what and let the jedi steal the spawns away from the campers. It works......we had lots of fun doing this, putting down camps next to spawn points, all kinds of fun things to disrupt their game. BOY did we get alot of hate tells and threats the next day.....one guy actually asked me for my home address so he could come over and slit my throat....I gave it to him.
If SOE allows the camping, they should allow our disruption of it.

I camp nyax a lot. I'm never AFK, however I do watch a tv show or read the forums in between spawns. And yeah, the rich keep getting richer. I've made over 350 million in the last 3-4 weeks. I'm not a jedi nor am I a swordsman. I'm just a simple rifleman with a speed capped outfit using a nice little 850 max dxr 6.
Anyway, you all sound like a bunch of communists. I plan on writing an article about this, it would probably scare a lot of you.. to know that you really sound like communists. But anyway.. <3 joo
