OK, the days of doing 32K Janta/Mokk missions are over!! No more making a million credits in a hour. And yet the prices of loot is still 5 mill for this 10 mill for that or higher. Its time to get realisitic. The majority of people are NOT rich anymore. 400K for a suit of armor (or hiher), 3 million for a weapon (or higher), 250K for a crate of food.....its stupid!!! And no Im not saying this cause I dont have money...I have plenty from pre CU...but I am tired of seeing lower level people in hunting groups dying left and right because they cant afford to buy anything because they got into the game after the CU. Not to mention the pre CU filthy rich buying up anything and everything on the auction forums. And what the hell is 4 million for a BARC??? Good grief its nothing but a glorified swoop. Its not faster, its not more decay resistant, its doesnt handle better...all it has is a place for your feet and a different seat.
For those of you who think having a fat bank account makes you something, here is a news flash for you...NO ONE SEES IT!! Therefore no one knows, and no one gives damn.
If there is anything in this game that needs to be nerfed its the prices of things. The devs tried to balance the economy, but just like everything else they try to fix they only did a halfass job on it.
That's all for my rant.
Let the flames begin from the rich and greedy!!

*shrug* it's a player-based economy. Players set all the prices and keep them where they are. If people didn't pay 400k for a suit of armor, amor wouldn't be priced at 400k. I don't really see how the devs can do much to artifically deflate prices. Do you have any ideas on that, or are you just pointlessly complaining?
As for my bank account making me something....*shrug* I see it. Not everyone plays the game to be "leet" or "uber", believe it or not. For me, getting my first 100 million credits was like many other players feel about getting a Jedi. I don't need to be able to duel with my bank account at the Theed starport in order to make me feel good about my accomplishment. I couldn't care less if I'm the only person who knows about it. I play for me, not you.
P.S. What is 4 million for a BARC? It's an incredibly fastway for those noobs you're worried about to get themselves fully outfitted and ready for battle.

Actually, the BARC is better than any one vehicle in the game. Which is one of the reasons it sells for so much. The other reason being that the only way to get one is from buying the expansion.
You're right that it's not faster than a swoop, but the BARC also has the superior terrain negotiation of the AV-21. Meaning that you will make better time over hills and ravines. And on top of that, the BARC is the only vehicle that can be repaired from the disabled state.
You say that "it's time to bring prices into reality!", but from where I'm sitting they already are. It's a free market. If people were not willing to spend 4 million on a BARC, they wouldn't sell at that price. Supply and demand: There is a high demand for an item which is limited in supply, soit has a high value.
And it's not just the rich, pre-CU people buying stuff like that. I know a newbie (who has only been playing for 1 month)who just boughta BARCfor around 3 million credits.Because he had sold his on the first day for 100K, not knowing they were rare.
The prices only reflect what people are willing to pay for stuff... if you find them excessively high, you're behind the curve, that's all.
The prices are unreal but this is a game after all. We do start out the same though 70k and a brown uniform, those who are willing to work for it will find a way.
Istarted 1 week before the cu and have done very well since.I just boughta suit of BH armor it was expensive but worth it. Seeing someone wear that armor for the first time inspired me to work for the credits.
So maybe the high prices giveplayers something to work for.

Interesting responses, and at least no flames. But I still stand where I think. This is NOT a realistic economy. Or if it is, I'm glad I dont have to pay 200K for a case of pepsi or coke. LOL!! Or 4 million for a Harley. And god forbid my 9mm would have cost me 2 million.
What you see in SWG is a very realistic depiction of an entirely unregulated free market economy with ever increasing amount of funds. Infinitely more money goes into the system than out of it... how can you not expect hyperinflation?
32k janta missions, even before it was nerf was the worst way to make money. it was just a sure and brainless way to do it.
loot at what forum you are posting on. its ltems and loot, not missions.
