Yesterday I finally bought myself a wonderful marine backpack. I always thought they looked awesome and had the 1500 faction points required. When I got the backpack and wanted to put it on, it told me to be declared (overt). OK, I turned into overt,equipped my backpack and went covert again. The first day it worked fine, but for some reason I went overt ajust a couple of hours later again. The next day I'm still overt even though I spoke to a rebel NPC and my new backpack with all my resources in it is gone! Is this a common bug, and is there a way to fix it? I would be very glad for an answer, thanks in advance.

That's the problem with most of the faction wearables, you have to be overt in order for them to work properly.Yes this means going overt permanently. Although, whenever you die you automatically revert back to covert so once that happens it shouldn't even let you wear the faction item anymore. Not even mentioning going covert through the wait period which shouldn't allow faction items to remain equipped. More probs that need fixing.

Does this mean that my 1500 faction point rebel backpack + resources are gone forever?!

I'd suggest filling out a Customer Service Ticket. But, most likely the server gods have devoured your hard earned resources as a sacrifice never to be seen by the likes of us again. I have a few friends who have lost entire factories for no apparent reason. Millions of resources sacrificed to the omnipresent ones.

This makes me furious! I'm really desperate now... I can't play because I'm overt all the time and I'm not a good warrior yet so I get killed whenever I come close to the civilization. I can't seem to find a way to get back to normal status.
Please, someone help me 
P.S. The backpack + resources are still gone.

Ive never had to be overt in order to wear my marine backpack. All the other faction stuff, yes ive had to be overt, but the backpack i can equip, dequip, reequip etc when im covert and i do it all the time. beem doing so for months as well.

I have had my Backpack on since I became a rebel and have not taken it off once. I only like the backpack and the boots anyway. but I find the only way to keep overt items on you is to keep your inventory full. I have seen the boots on my guy jump on and off but not the backpack stay on

1) Why can't I go back to covert status?
2) Why couldcraftr have his marine backpack on without changing to overt (same backpack)?
3) When does the server restart?

I had a simular problem.I had my stormtrooper armor on and went covert.I logged off and when i went back on my stromtrooper armor was unequipped and it dissapeared.I had to wait awhile to get it all back.Every day one piece came back into my inventory.Just make sure your inventory is not full or it may not come back.

I beleve any overt person can where any overt item. Unless they fixed it. I had a friend who stopped playing who was a rebel that had a full suit of trooper armor on and he would wear it all the time. I think the Rebel boots and backpack would look great on a Trooper. I just wish they made the rebel armor look better. nasty green and looks more like a nap sack then a chest plate.
