Thread: toow quest rewards = no trade :(

This thread needs to be stickied, or something else that would bring these concerns to SOE's developers. This cannot go unanswered like SOE has let the Bria server stability issue go unanswered.
Someone needs to be as serious as a heart attack to these people and tell them that they're going to lose their a$$e$ over this one. I dont know how many posts I've read from peeps that have more than one account that say they're cancelling their crafting toon accounts because of this. With brilliant decisions like this one this game will turn into a ghost town...
SOE YOU CANNOT SURVIVE CATERING TO THE 5 OR 6 PLAYERS THAT WILL STICK AROUND TO PLAY THIS GAME!! WAKE UP OVER THERE AND START MAKING GOOD DECISIONS FOR THIS GAME BEFORE IT DIES A HORRIBLE DEATH!!!
Those are much better reasons to leave in combination. I too am sad about points one and two. Having run through a great deal of the quests lately as a level 80,I can say for certain that there is alot avalable content from the 20s through 50s but, Level 1 still have it rough. Alot of us still keep trophies in our houses and occasionally switch templates that require old drops.

If you are going to cancel over loot tradability(?), I doubt you will be missed. Have a good life.
I remember people saying the same to Live Ents, but then it was about "buff bots".
And today when the process cant be automated, and entertainers are sorely missed, as there are barely none left.
"I doubt you will be missed" how wrong they were back then.
I've cancelled my preorder today, but not only because of this, but because this was the straw that broke the camels back.
1. No crafting content.
2. No entertainer content.
3. No content for those that are not CL 80.
4. Quest rewards are junk if you cant use them.
5. "There's content for everyone" was a lie.
Well, try to remember most people cannot use just any old item. In ROTW most weapons were usable by one profession only, etc. Now, just think about trying to get people to help you do a quest when they will get no benefit from it? Sounds like an unlikely endeavor. Mustafar won't be a popular destination very long. I give it 2 months and it will be an empty planet.

I have read all your posts...I personally think no drop items are in some ways a good thing. To an extent...
I dont really see a value in making decoration items no drop, that is just to get us to buy the expansion.
However, I wouldnt mind seeingnice items like weapons and armor drop from high lvl content that was bio link, and the exceptional items be bind on pickup or something. That way you wont see a ton of them out there. Although to get that system to work you would need content....moreso then the crud we got so far. If you have a DWB and the end boss is like a 2/3 group kill then I dont see the reason for not rewarding those players with a nice 1500 damage ALR or something...but make it biolink or nodrop so they dont flood the market. Just my 2 cents anyway....
P.S. It would be nice if the loot table for mobs was constant at the high end game like DWB and things. That way we know what types of things we can look forward to and focus our efforts as a guild on obtaining things....
Yes i just see it.. a cl1 Entertainer begs to be led though the quest to get a new Dance/Music/Prop.
This again just caters the Combat Toon.. the one strong enough to get quests done.
Crafters and Entertainers have to wait for Charity to get taken in a Combat Group, to get the Same rewards..
SORRY; BUT THIS IS NO FUN.
SWG was SUPPOSED to cater all gaming Styles, not only Combat.
Bio-Linking is ok. but Notrade? Sorry....
If it weren't for all the non-stop nerfing, forced pvp, etc., I would probably have bought another account at some point during the last 2 years. But the horrific track record of these guys really should make anyone reconsider before buying another account, or even getting the game in the first place.
To take the most popular film franchise in recorded history and make a MMORPG out of it should have been a golden opportunity for any reputable company... instead they take it and run it right into the ground.

Well you have to hand it to SOE and the devs... they have a near-perfect record (at making horrible, ill-thought decisions that keep making the game less and less fun for just about everyone).
Remove the no trade, make people happy.
Remove the no-slice no-powerup, make people estatic.
Thats all the devs have to do, and they will double the sales of this expansion. Lower the price by $10, and i bet they would triple.

If anyone can confirm this it will be greatly appreciated so I don't waste 30 bucks.
oh its confirmed right from the devs mouth. No trade to make them more valuable.. yet as an example what value would the katarn knuckler be to my master rifleman/mbh/4000cm? not very valuable at all. yet i could sell it for 3 mil which let me get a better rifle to use.
So how he thinks this makes them more prized is way beyond me.
And i was just about to purchase the expansion times two because it was working so well. til i read that. now it truly is not getting bought.
way to go SOE lost 60 bucks right there. Almost had me , thanks for that move ill go pile that 60 on to something else.
Level playing field?
AfeeElandra wrote:lol, cry more.....
why not do the quests for the rewards you want/can use? then you wont waste your valuable time away from school.
stops loot whoring, gives everyone a level playing field - no more uber stacked l33t players.
oh, and you won't cancel, only 1 in 25 that say they will actually do. only 1 in 18 of those actually stop posting on the forums as well.
Lets say there's a powerful item in this expansion. How does making it so only people that buy the expansion can have that item make it a level playing field? Or by level playing field do you mean you plan to buy the expansion and do the quest and don’t want other people that buy the expansion to sell their items to people you might face?
The level playing field is every toon starts off the same with the same opportunities. This just narrows the opportunities of people that don't buy the expansion.
This is just another step towards making this game a single player game with a chat room and the ability to co-op a dungeon. Less freedom to play the game in different ways. If that's all this game going to be there are much better games that fill that market niche already.
