The problem with a great many of the "wishes" people are posting is that they are unbalancing, as well as unrealistic.
A 7 use Blue Frog? Are you out of your mind? After only 2 years? Maybe a 25 year reward, but 2? Be realistic.
Veteran rewards are as much about recognition as anything else. For example, a good recognition reward would be a special vehicle skin that would change the graphics on a vehicle or increase the color palllette. A swoop with a flame job or running narglatch with the brilliant trim colors available also for the frame is something that will mark a veteran as unique.
A special armor skin would do much the same, along the lines of the ADK so that once the armor is destroyed, you get the "deed" back.
Would also work for a weapon...add a scope or bipod to a T-21, or perhaps porting or a special graphic effect when shot....
All of these add recoginition factor to the veteran character without affecting game balance. This is what we should be looking at when making suggestions, not "give me uber-loot that I can get if I apply myself but am too lazy/greedy to get".
Compared to all of the other Veteran Rewards in the game, the ones you listed make me want to throw up, that list should be 3 month veteran rewards...
Some people cant spend half their lives on the game grinding some "uber-leet-jedeye". Ive supported this game since I read the Press Release on it, I think I deserve a bit more than flames on my speeder or a bi-pod for my T-21...
Sorry, but no, you don't. The ADK's proved that giving out unbalancing "rewards" just takes the game down a darker path. I too have been around supporting this game since the beginning, and if you have to then you should know that giving "uber" freebies just because you played for two years isn't the way to go.
And believe me, the Star Destroyer idea and all the other unreasonable wishes are just as bad as a "blue frog" type reward. Hell, I think the respec token is a bad idea.
Anything that screws with the tenuous balance this game has is unreasonable. Visible and recognizable rewards for veterans don't upset the balance, Star Destroyers do.
OK.. I have sat and read enough posts on this topic to see that some have great ideas... others dont... some have good ideas for the wrong reasons... etc... ROFL ![]()
I would like to see a 2nd character slot seeing as I am not interested in Jedi by any means... I know that makes me the minority in the SWG universe but I dont care. I have done the FS grind.. yes it was long and hard... but I fought through it...merely to fill out my non-jedi template with the bonuses that the FS grind gives... so a 2nd char would be nice... I might poke myself in the eye with one of those darn glow sticks..
I also think that a few extra Skill Points would be a nice way to delineate between the vets and the beginners.. but then again.. I know a few "vet" that are real jerks and would use that to "hastle" the noobies.
other than those two things, I really dont care..
however I did like the idea of having ALL BUGS fixed as an option LOL!!!
Ummm, been there, done that? I Beta'd this beast and opted out of JTL Beta and RotW Beta simply because work wouldn't allow.
I have two accounts, 1 crafter and 1 combat. The crafter since launch, the combat 3 months later.
I think ADK's were a dumb idea, as were the resource deeds, no power deeds etc...
The problem with people today is they want something for nothing. And yes, playing the game for as long as we did IS NOTHING. Its not work even if it feels like it. Its not punishment even though it often feels like it. Its a game which, quite frankly, owes us nothing. If we get veteran rewards its because of SOE's generosity, not because we deserve them. I deserve my paycheck, and the freedoms guaranteed me by the Constitution, but I don't deserve some reward for playing a game for two years.
Recognition is nice, and I hope to hell its all veterans ever get from now on, simply because people expect too much for too little. Two years is not enough to justify anything unbalancing, no matter how slight an imbalance it might be. Heck, 20 years is too little for unbalanced reward.

Preach it, brother!
hehe. Nothing is worth unbalancing the game because it may lead to The CU: Episode II.

so giving SOE about $500 is nothing? is that what your saying? i think for $500 we deserve something. not unbalancing but soemthing strong and worthwhile
You make it sound like you hosed out 500$ and got nothing but static. You got a game with a kazillion bugs and holes in it but you remained and you played it for untold hours, which implies you kinda enjoyed it. Is that not what you payed for? Something to do for hours and hours?
Now, I wouldn´t mind something cool as reward but what really needs to be considered is balance. The ADK´s was nice but a real bad idea, perpetuating unlikely objects. I´d be pleased with some new skins, vehicles or badges or something like that, maybe even something untradable to place in a house. Frankly, what I´d really like is a complete bugfix on the old material before new sxxt is created...with at least as many bugs in it from start.
Not that such a thing should be asked for as a reward for loyalty but if that was what it would take, I´d pick that over anything. Or maybe I´ll get myself a real big stick....?
I think a new ship or land vehicleoption, a vehicle or a house would be nice, as long as it didn't unbalance the game for beginners.
I asked a dog what playing this game was like - he said "rough". Wow a smart dog, just to make sure I asked him what that vehicle was over there - you guessed it, he said "Barc" :-) Now's that's a smart dog, been playing for almost two years now.... can't wait for my perk... and don't rub me the wrong way...
