Simple enough, switch from loot to mission rewards and sell them to collectors. Or you could make necrosis or DWB runs to get loot to sell. Good loot is not gone. Good loot is just hard to get now.

This post and most of its threads are right on the mark. I agree that looting has changed ever since the CU maybe before.
Looting is an integral part of this game and many games. Its what makes players hope and drive them on. Before the the CU, it was possible to get a 1 in a 1000 drop legendary T21 from a NS for in stance or an elder! Getting great cubes in the GEO or many other places. To make every weapon so equal and capping everything from food eating to weapons to only +25 in skill attachments is why I still miss the the SWG game beofre the CU ! Even template building was more interesting pre-cu.
To hear so many players say they like this game better now is depressing.
Looting is why i still play SWG but i am getting real real bored with it because looting is so bad.
Some genius at SOE stops all SEA's from dropping at AAkuan and Borgle.....they really do look stupid !
i agree Josh ty for the post,,,Getting good loot that you can use on your character or sell to impove your character is just fun,,plain and simple. It is also why i play this game. Right now this whole aspect of the game is beyond broken in my opinion.
The last 3 times i went by geo just for fun,,,never saw even one person. This huge adventure zone in the game and it isnt even used by anyone. This is just one thing but if nobody is going there,,,something is wrong.
Well I haven't been playing the game long but I don't feel loot should be easily obtained or found. I do understand your point with the spontaneous decision to go and hit up a certain boss and get there to find it missing. That pretty much ruins your plans for the evening. So I am not sure how I feel about that really. I like the idea of random spawns and I suppose you should understand that it may not be there when you get there. It is a trade off I suppose.
I think the AFK looting needs to be ELIMINATED as much as possible. I understand being able to harvest resources while being AFK a little but I don't feel you should ever be able to do something such as hunt without even being at your keyboard. Why ever play at all? Or turn your computer off? It ruins the value and game play for everyone eventually. I dont totally understand the game mechanics so I am not sure how stopping this kind of behavior would affect the game but I think it would be worth it. I do not like the idea of spending 2-3 hours a day, 6 days a week for 4-5 months grinding FS or Jedi experience while some lazy **edit** turns a bunch of macros on and does it in 2 weeks. It isnt fair to the larger percentage of players. Maybe perhaps give droids a use. Make a patch where you can set up droids while your not playing (or limit the amount of time allowed for this kind of action) to hunt for you. Could be interesting and add to a professions demand (hit on this problem a little more later).
I agree that the quality of the loot should be increased to AT LEAST match the BH loot (then a slight increase for BH but not enough to throw it out of proportion. I think they could try to make spawns to where you need a Ranger(or more)in your group to even find them. Or add doors/boxes/cabinets that must be sliced by a Smuggler. Stuff that not only increases the loot but also adds to the group atmosphere and gives some professions more demand. I can see where SOE may have tried to do similiar things but gave up on it. Myself, I would urge them to get back to those kind of ideas before releasing another expansion without fixing the content of the current game. It is pointless to make that suggestion since the dates are set (probably in stone) but possible for future expansions.
So basicly; loot should be hard to find but once you find it, its worth it! Fix the current content before moving on. Increase the demand for professions instead of only focusing on 2 or 3.
