Thread: FAQ for CA and AA's by Ssedi
Ok Ive got a question.
Going by number 5 in the original post... when you place a tape in an articleof clothingthat has the same SEA already (e.g. you put a +5 melee defense in a shirt with a +3 defense tape in it), the higher mod will stick but at the cost of another socket.
So my question is, if your sockets are no more in this situation, can you still place the higher number tape in to override? Or will it treat the item as full. Also what happens with multi-skill tapes in this situation?
Outstanding guide btw.

If you have no more socket's, you can not place any more SEA's on the clothing item, so it will treat it has if it is full...which it is.
Multi-skill tapes will work the same way still. If you have clothing with 2 sockets and you place a 3 modded SEA on it with one of the skills on it being a higher version of one you already have on the clothing (Ex. Place a SEA with +10 ranged defense, +5 melee speed, and +2 melee defense on a clothing with +5 ranged defense and +3 melee speed) You will get a clothign with no sockets that has +10 ranged defense and +5 melee speed.
However you can also use certain hats (sungaurd) and belts with sockets for your CA's has well.
FAQ
1. What does SEA mean?
SEA stands for Skill Enhancing Attachment. Which are attachments that give you extra skills like Ranged Defense, Speed, Accuracy, Crafting bonus’s, and much more. They come in two forms CA and AA.
Ok, some min ago, I just looted a Skill-Enhacing Attachment (from a kryat). But it,s not a CA or a AA. It say "Skill-Enhacing Attachment" and look as a jedi crystal (skills are medial warfare efficiency +22, rifle speed +11) What is this? How work? Thanks.

CSR's will not fix it either.

Popular NPC’s to hunt for SEA’s are:
Aa’kuan’s- Found on Talus. Has a POI cave that is pretty much camped on all servers. Also can take missions for them (Player Cities only?). They have a pretty decent drop rate for their Cl, which are around CL 17-28. They Drop SEA’s around +5. Other loots include Aa’kuan rings (+5 ranged defense and can wear two), various modded clothing (None are worth much), and other random loot’s14. I see a lot of +25 CA/AA’s, where can I get them?Dark Jedi Knights and Master’s can drop them. With a Cl in the upper 200’s. They can be found has random spawns on Dant. and a mission from the the Imperial Prison on Dath. spawns them (Due to LOS bugs, this mission is hard to get). These are not to be taken lightly, usually incaping the bravest fighter in one hit. So how do you take them? A Master defender with an avoid Incap macro can do it with force being feed to him. ( Avoid Incap will soon be placed on a timer, probably making this useless). Also ranged people with roots can root the DJK/DJM and deal damage without being touched, once root runs off, just reapply. They also have a chance of dropping Premium crystals, wound packs (Useless!!), and other junk loots. (HAS OF June 1st, DJM/DJK's no longer drop decent loot.)
16. If I take mission's for Lvl 80 NPC's, will they drop +16 SEA's?
It depends on what the orginal level of the NPC's are. Mission Aa'kuan's will still only drop +5 tapes even if you take mission's for Lvl 80. The reason for this is that base NPC level is what accounts when factoring loot tables. So a wild spawn NPC of lvl 27, will still only drop loot according to if you were Looting a lvl 27, even if the mission lvl is 80 or higher. (Thanks to Droid327)
Aa'kuans now drop up to +12 mods when running missions. With the recent fix of loot being dependent on the CL of the mob you are killing means just running level 80 missions for Aa'kuans will usually give you a SEA with 2-3 mods.......one will be a high number (say 12 or 13) the others will be a low number (like 6 or 7). Over the weekend I looted 6 SEA and all had 3 mods that ranged from the above listed numbers.
DJM/DJK currently do drop really nice mods. Only thing is they no longer drop +25 from what I've seen, usually it's +15 (around there) as the top mod and the others are 9-10. These are pretty nice unless you have been completely spoiled by +25, which I know some have lol. Now in publish 20 devs are once again changing the loot tables for these mobs so expect it to be FUBAR for a while after the patch goes live.
As mentioned above the level of the mob will directly affect the quality of the SEA. Your assumption of the original level (pre-CURB) affecting the quality was true until publish 19 was pushed out.
