Who is blixtev? Is he with SOE or is he just a beta tester???

Someone needs to call SOE on the carpet for this one... I really would like to have this substantiated by Tiggs or whomever, because this is a definite cancellation if it is true...

Blixtev is a Dev. Tiggs has zero power over him, she is just the interface between us and the devs.

I dont know the pecking order on the totem pole... As far as I'm concerned I'd just like to hear something coherent from SOE, you know, something useful...

I wish there was more interaction between the players and the devs, this game has so much potential if it would be taken in the right direction...

wheres the post by the dev's saying that quest items will be non tradeable? Well, atleast the drops will be tradeable unlike WoW.

beta forums.

from blixtev:
We are using No Drop for a vaierty of reasons this expansion. Mainly because it requires you to do the content to earn the rewards. Some of the new content is very difficult and it will take a solid team of people operating together to beat it. This adds a subtle value to items that before anyone spamming in the Mining Outpost on Dantooine could aquire.

Most quest rewards are going to be no drop. If you get something you cant or do not want to use, it can either be displayed in a House you are the owner of, or you can sell it to a junk dealer if you do not want it clogging up inventory space. Most of the new loot/rewards can be sold off for credits to junk dealers.

Say goodbye to SWG...for the crafters are about to leave. If SOE does this for TOOW then they will do it for other expansions too. If crafters can't collect anything, what reason do they have to make money? No crafters in SWG=only jedi can still play=game is shut down due to so many crafter alts account being cancled=no money for SOE.

lol, cry more.....

why not do the quests for the rewards you want/can use? then you wont waste your valuable time away from school.

stops loot whoring, gives everyone a level playing field - no more uber stacked l33t players.

oh, and you won't cancel, only 1 in 25 that say they will actually do. only 1 in 18 of those actually stop posting on the forums as well.

SOE said early on that this was not a jedi expansion and that there would be 'something for everyone' in this. From what I have read so far on the boards it does not seem that there is much for me as a CL1 crafter.

There will no doubt be some loot drops of schematics but from what I see you have to battle high level mobs to get them.

OK fine - send in the guilds fighters and collect the spoils as they exit - but if this is true and the rewards are not tradable..how will any schematics be made which probably means that there is no schematics to be found....

Ah well..at least I would get a new house that has a footprint so large that it won't fit anywhere in the city!

This policy is just plain dumb. I really don't know any other way to say it.

I have two account on one account i have my Jedi and a BH/Rifleman. On the second account i have 1 toon, a Shipwright/Bio-engineer. That crafting toon is CL 17, and just about anything in the game can give him the whooping of his life.

Now i have a problem that CL 17 toon is pretty much my main pilot. I have done 3 masteries with him so far, and at some time i plan on doing four more. It would be cool to get him a YT-2400. However i suspect that the item will be a no-trade item, and i highly doubt that he would beable to do the quests without someone babysitting him. Ontop of that i was planning on placeing a mustafarian bunker with him, now that the deed is untradeable i won't be able to. I don't feel like spending thirty bucks for a make believe house. So i don't think i'll buy the expansion for that account plain and simple.

Now for my account with my combat toons, i'm leaning towards not buying the expansion. From most of the quest's i have been through the rewards don't really appeal to me. I'm 100% for sure that i don't want to do a quest just to end up selling the reward to a junk dealer for 5k. Heck my toon wipes himself with a 5k credit chip after useing the bathroom. The one thing that drives the SWG economy is loot, and selling loot. Without being able to trade high end loot there isn't really any point to looking for it.

Player A goes out and get X loot because player B wants it. Then player A takes the credits from that sale and buys Y loot from player C.

It's as simple as that, loot is what makes the world go round. Without loot people will be running credit missions to beable to afford stuff from crafters, and that is well just boring.

I'm pretty sure i can sum up what players want from loot in the following sentances. "Players want cool loot, they don't care if it's a reward or a random drop. They just want it, and want it to be cool. It doesn't matter if they have to borrow it or trade for it." If a player can't get something cool then what is the point of even playing?

With all that said. Please rethink the no trade policy. Tradeing loot won't imbalance the game. Tradeing loot will make crafters/entertainers happy. Tradeing loot will probably sell you more copies of this expansion. Makeing it so someone has to have the expansion to recieve the loot will sell you more expansion guarenteed.

Wow, seems like the developers just reached a new low when it comes to stupidity.

Dev 1: Hey dewds, let's make another quest and loot oriented expansion!

Dev 2: Kewl, let's make it's impossible to trade the rewards, so there is like... 1 quest of 100 that's useful for each profession. That will be fun!

Seriously, if ToOW is anything like RotW, then only a small percentage of the quests will actually contain an object that each character can use, the rest will be weapons and such that's certed for other professions. Without a way to trade these, what's the incentive to doing the quests? Actually, what's the incentive to buying the expansion at all?

Well what's the point of shelling out $30 for the 2 or 3 quests that can pertain to you?

My sentiments exactly , this news is just plain mind boggling, how could they be so incredibly inept as to think this was a good idea?? sometimes i wonder ifsoe isnt trying to kill this game deliberately.. i mean come on guys.Howcould you besodense as to make aquest/loot expansion then make all of it notrade

Turning Star Wars Galaxies into a first person shooter is as bad an idea as turning it into a real time strategy game.. thanks for the toilet in the middle of the living room !

the only way to have rewards that are non trade in the game is if the reward can be used by you. also if the reward is of a certain type, then the quest should also be designed for that type of player.

IE, if the reward is a crafter/dancer type reward, then it should be a crafter/dancer type quest, anything else is stupid. true this will make ppl do only certain quest, but they only do certain ones now, so no big change there.

i swear, with all the weird ideas(nerf) these devs come up with, im surprised that ppl dont constantly tackel them to the ground emit tate style ever damn time they see them at a convention. im sure after three days of hitting the floor over and over and having to call secruity to come save there skinny butts they would either quit the proffesion, or do a better job, both of which would help this game.
