Thread: Barc -vs- Varactyl
You, sir, obviously dont know what your talking about, as I own BOTH the varactyl AND the BARC, and therefore YOU should not make comments on something YOU have no idea about. I ALSO have a Bolotar mount, and while the varactyl is slightly superior, its not such an INSANE difference that the Bolotar wouldnt also serve the same purpose. If someone could only have 1 of the 2 BARCs are the way to go since you can also get a Bolotar for free by doing a simple mission.

Dudethats thelamest thing i think ive ever heard ... who are you trying to rip off ... come look at my collection if you want Twinky .. I not only have a barc and varactyl, but I also have both kash rideable mounts the bolotar and the kash bantha.. and there is a VERY very noticable diffrence between the varactyl and the bolotar. so that leave me to beleave you must be doing 1 of 3 things. your trying to rip someone off, or you have ripped someone off or you simple have no clue what so ever...

I raced my Kaduu at full gallop against a varactyl that was at normal speed and I could just about go faster - the Varactyl are definatly the fastest mount in the game...now if we could only shoot off the back of them...
I quite like the sound they make - it carries very well across town so people always know when I am in!
while mounted ./gallop will make your varactyl or any creature mount run as fast as it can for an extended amout of time until it runs out or breath. bring up ctrl+a and under other i beleive is the hotkey option for gallop. it then runs as fast if not slightly faster than a speederbikeswoop/barc
And about having to start a new account, NOT TRUE, if you buy the total experience and install it, you can use your original station login for SWG and get the BARC. so everyone could technically get one, if you buy the box set, and have roo for it in your data pad!

well i did a little compairing of these mounts, for i have multiple accounts and two computers side by side. using to toons with one of each:
a varactyl, kashyyyk bantha, bolotuar, MCH varactyl, and the BARC
differences i have found....varactyl and bolotar are very close in speed if not the same, even while using /gallop. it is a optical ilusion; the bolotaur takes larger steps, and is much larger than other mounts such as the varactyl, tho the varactyl takes 3 steps in the time the bolotaur takes 1. also the varactyl slows for combat as with many mounts, and the bolotaur stops and go's berzerk on what ever aggro'd to you, not allowing you to control him properly when this happens, this can be more frusterating than the "slowing for combat" feature most mountshave.
also the bolotaur is so big he walks thru most streams, lakes and rivers 
the kashyyyk bantha is much slower in both its walk and /gallop, tho when shot at it gets startled and runs at a VERY fast pace, only brought on by being shot by npc. also the furless wonder has no problem with steep hills as he climbs with no negative movement costs. tho a very bad down side is he lays down ALOT, to fix this just walk away from him about 15-30m and he stands back up.
the MCH varactyl is a light blue tint, unlike the green color of the ddl varactyl. it is a lvl 65, with a HAM of around 6k, used in combat it is pretty fair for being a mount, tho non-mounts can still deal more damage. same speed as the ddl. the MCH varactyl is raised from an egg that you "hatch" in the radial menu, it grows up like many other tammable creatures and can get little bigger than the ddl version.
the BARC is same as or faster than the AV-21, it is fixable by means of a special kit that is craftable or by the ol'school garage, also it can be un-disabled!!! yes also by means of a garage or a kit, holding 2 people on one bikes not so bad either!
