I think you guys are over-reacting.
For one thing, the expansions would have to be seperate cd-keys and CD's, otherwise how could I install RotW without totally uninstalling my game, deleting my account, and starting over? Think about it for a sec. I'm quite sure they'll be seperate CD's in the pack, not an "all in one serial number" setup.
If they were to make it all one key, then the expansion would be worthless to everybody else in the SWG world, and only new players would get it. Somehow, I don't think that'll be the case. If you want the BARC speeder, buy the boxed set, I'm quite sure you'll be able to install RotW into your existing account.
And, if for some gosh-awful reason, you have to reinstall the game with a new set of CD's to get RotW, the cd key only ties the game to your computer. You'd just reinstall the game, then log into your account the same way you have been all along. Duh.........quit getting all bent out of shape, and think for a few minutes.

I've been playing since launch. I've been an MBH for more then a year now, borked as it's been, because that's the prof. I bought the game for. I went through a months bureaucracy to get the Naboo Speeder because the pre-order keys weren't distributed correctly. Oh, and WoW gets the praise of every game review mag and web site while I stick with an "OK" game because I love the SW license so much.
Players like myself deserve to get that BARC Speeder because players like myself keep this game going, not new players that have been sitting on the fence for almost 2 years. Show us some respect SOE and make this speeder either a vet reward, lootable like the AV-21 or justgive the Master Artisans the ability to craft it. Honestly, the latter is the impression I got when they announced the BARC along with the new mounts. This is so typical of SOE and I'mdisappointed inmyself for not boycotting them because of my SW addiction.

Tiggs - Yes, the BARC Speeder will be an exclusive item that you can only get if you buy the retail box that hits the shelf at the end of May. But, it will be tradeable in-game, so it will still be possible to pick one up if you are really interested in getting one. Seriously, how many flash speeders have you seen flying around? On Eclipse, I've seen maybe 3. The reason? They suck.
You complain that only pre-orders from EB Games got the Flash Speeder last time around. This time around, pre-orders are available everywhere (as far as I know), and box set players get a basic speeder in fancy clothes........yet you still complain. Heck, I bought JTL boxed, no pre-order, and I got nothing. At least this time, we get something for not having a credit card.
Quit complaining.......if you dislike it that much, go play WoW, addiction aside. And that's really a lame excuse, anyway. I love Star Wars, but I'm not so addicted that I can't play HL2, Doom 3, or a score of other games old and new that I still enjoy.
So what if it's just a different skin, I like the look of it and I'd like to have it. 21 monthsof fees means I've spent $314.79 so far and I'm not alone here either. The point here is that SOE would rather give those BARC's out to new players instead of letting those of us that keep this game going have a choice between pre-order rewards.
I don't understand your beef about what I had to deal with to get that flash speeder either.
So quit your complaining about my voicing my disagreement with the situation, that's what the threads for.
BTW, passing on a better product because I have a SW jones is lame, but I'd have to say that's implied. And if you think someone that plays an MMO hasn't played games like HL 2, Doom 3, yada yada... alreadythen you didn't think it through and just opted to write something biting.
But, hey thanks for your opinion.

Thanks for posting this, Thino. As others have already said, I was on the verge of doing the preorder this weekend, but now I'm not interested. SOE really doesn't give two farts about their existing player base...

wow... I don't know about you guys, but I would rather have a bad-ass giant lizard than some bicicle. I am really looking forward to my EXCLUSIVE leezard. Screw your bike that dies in two seconds after you're incapped, I've got my ... whatever it's called.

Has it be stated that the BARC speeder will be tied to a particular RotW CD Key? See my thinking is, with JTL the Flash Speeder had its own little key on the beta disk you should have gotten with your pre-order. Soooo I'm thinking what if that's the case with the BARC? Maybe then it would be possible to get both if you pre-ordered digitally, and in store (or were really really really nice to the guy behind the counter guarding said disks...if there are disks). Again just thinking hypothetically. In the end though how many people really use their Flash as a primary form of transportation? I think the same will be true with the BARC. Just another trophy for us long time players. I'm sticking to the lizard, I mean is anyone else bothered by the anachronistic nature of this expansion? In the time line all these EPIII vehicles have been phased out by the current content. Though that's a rant for another post I suppose.

This upsets me, just for the simple fact, that...When they First advertised this Rage of the Wookiees
They claimed that it would be a FREE Download off the internet, and that None of us would be paying for it,
Now we are being told that we will have to Pay $24.95 (??) for it, but yet for new players, they get to have all 3 games
(expansions and game), in One box...
I think they devs and SOE are getting a wee bit to greedy and money Hungry!!!
Are they wanting to force all of us Launchers out of the game???
If they are, they are doing a darn good job of it with this new CU they think is brilliant.
Please devs, ASK those that have Played and Paid the longest on what WE, the Customer, want.
