This Idea is probably a little bit on the revolutionary side, so I know some of you will really hate it. How bout they make stuff so that you can't AFK it? No, seriously, bear with me. What if Nyax didn't spawn every 20 mins? What if dungeons had a one hour timer like the corvette?
As for all the players making millions and millions on dud fireworks looted off meat lumps...those are truely uber loot, and i recomend that they be only droped from high end mobs like night sisters or krayts.
Lets not through the baby out with the bath water here. Recursive macros are great. They are one of the things that make the game better. Get rid of reasons to AFK camp, and you will see AFKing disapear.

Um, ok, let's look at why people AFK camp. Loot, Experience & Credit. Ok, so let's make it so no loot is dropped, no experience is gained & no credits are made killing anything. Hmmm, nope can't get rid of the problem. I don't like the AFK looters & campers, but I agree, killing recursive macro's would be bad. Shoot, killing the recursive would pretty much end anyone's ability to heal bf and mind wounds seeing as no entertainers would ever be available.

Personally I'd like a chance at hunting Nyax myself, but until I get an uber template, it's not happening. It would be nice if all the caves and what not were made into 1 hour missions, this would kill a lot of the complaining. Until that happens, there is really nothing we can do. I don't even bother pointing them out to csr's, I haven't had a single ticket I put in answered.

This would also nerf the CoB macro. Not that I expect that to stop SoE ... after all, they just nerfed the AFK tag without forcing AFKers to be so flagged. I was in the village yesterday, and had somebody asking why they couldn't attack. I'll give you three guesses, and the first two don't count...

Who's gonna pay for the surgery to correct this carpal tunnel crud that is likely to follow?

AFK buffers are the best thing since individually wrapped sliced cheese!

AFK looters save me the time of having to hunt stuff, that way i can do the things i want to do(I do think they should spawn more random)

AFK xp grinding is great when you need to watch 2 small kids and cant sit there and spam attacks.

You tell me how on earth it is possible to grind out 1,300,000 FS xp and not use some sort of macro to grind with?

Why are there "no entertainers?" Because the zombies and buff-bots have driven them out of the Cantinas... and some have been driven out of the game entirely. Get rid of zombies and buff-bots and the live entertainers will return. There ARE people who play these professions because they enjoy them. What they do not enjoy is spending hours surrounded by "tip me, heal me, group me" and emote spam. Not to mention being ignored IN FAVOR of the afk zombies and buff-bots. I see the end of recursive macros as a good thing.

Nobody is telling you to play for hours at a time. You can log off, take a break, come back.

AFK buffers are fine in certain circumstances, unless they're sitting in SP taking money from a doc that's actually doing his own buffing.

If you're not hunting, then what exactly are you playing the game for? That's how you grind your XP, isn't it......or have I been playing a different game? Unless you're a non-combat profession, that is.

No offense to you, but if your game time and your family time conflict, then you should adjust your game time. Kids aren't awake 24/7, so just play when you have free time.

Making Jedi was supposed to be hard, was supposed to take a long time. As far as I'm concerned, if you weren't there playing for every XP point you got, you didn't earn Jedi, Intel or AMD did.

Flame me if you want, but even in just the short time I've been following this, the majority of arguments from people who use AFK repeating macros are as follows:

"It's too hard" "It's boring" "It takes a long time" "I have other things to do"............my advice, then, go find a different game. In the 8 months I've been playing, I've mastered (or almost mastered) 5 elite skills and ground out 3 boxes in Jedi, and I haven't used a macro once, except for my Doc Spam macro. The second this game gets so boring that I have to use a macro to do everything but cook my breakfast, I'm quitting, and moving on to another game.

They don't hurt me? So when I'm a new ent, trying to get XP, and I can't because there's a bot in there who got their skills by AFKing rather than playing, that doesn't hurt me? Or when there's a fully templated Jedi attacking NPCs to get loot to add to his millions of credits already whereas I'm trying to get the loot to use it for myself instead of sell it? Exactly.

We didn't say get rid of macros, we said get rid of RECURSIVE macros. They don't help the game, they help destroy it. If you don't want to play the game, why buy it?

I have been leveling a dancer as my support character. It is no problem at all to get XP. Try to go where entertainers are needed, like science op, mining op etc. People are not only looking for buffs, they also need to get mind wounds/BF down and many times there have been buff bots there at same time and I still got XP. I was surprised that I had even got some tips.

I personally don't think that buff bots affect entertainers as much as they say. Most true entertainers play it because they like to socialize with people so if the audience is interested in that they will choose the live entertainers. If they are not then entertainers will not get any feedback/chat anyway. Better to sort out people who want to socialize or not using the buff-bots.

The problem with entertainers is that it is not really any entertainment for most people (except that female characters might look pretty hot in their leotards lol). Most people don't care about how the flourishes are done (and a majority of entertainers only run every flourish after each other). I think the only persons who really appreciate the "entertainment" are other entertainers, those are the persons who understand how to put together different flourish into a show. For other people it is just a pre-recorded animation. I have to say that I have started to paymore attention to entertainers when I become one myself,

As entertainer you want to put together a nice show and use effects and flourishes so it become a whole show not just various effects after each other. The way to do this is to make a macro or it is much harder to repeat it. You want to start some basic stuff and add more effects to it. Of course there is no need for recursive macros you can put together your show in one macro and restart it when finished. But macroing is still an essential tool for a ATK entertainer.

Just going to repeat what someone already said, can't the /loot command (and any associated hot key icons) just be taken out? That way, you would have to use a double click, or radial menu command to loot a MOB.

I use recursive macros all the time, but I am not a AFK looter. The CoB, some combat macos, some crafting macros, they are all highly useful. I have no issue with spammers, because /addignore works like a charm. Plus, spammers have turned me on to some very cool purchases I have made that I am happy I heard about.

With regards to the AFK xp seekers, I think thatAFK macros can be a veryuseful tool.Recently, a friend decided to switchback to BH after a highly lucrative turn as a Master Doc/TKM. (Boy if you ever want to make cash, craft buff packs. The resource chase is a hassle, but he can't keep them in stock.) For any of you that have ever done it, Master Marksman is an insipid grind. Someone who has played since launch does not want to manually blast away at rills and womp rats all over again while missing 75% of the time. (with rifle, then back to pistol, then to carbine... erk.) An AFK macro for this is very handy.

If your argument is "you gotta press the buttons; it's a game", then why does the macro functionality even exist in the game? Your argument, taken to it's logical conclusion, is to remove the /macro command. Clearly, this is not SOE's intent.

Without question, it seems to me most complaints are about AFK looters. OK, make it so a mouse driven command is needed to loot. Seems the simplest (which is usually best) solution, and impacts most gamers the least.
