So you've been paying your money for 2 years and got nothing in return? Not even the service you were pay for, which is access to the servers last I read. You actually have a law suit if you have the receipts to show you paid and the data to show you could not connect to the servers at the time. Of course if your worried about vet awards it sounds like you have been given the product you paid for, and let's not forget the means to vent your anger, thay was a nice addition I'm sure you never considerd.
Oh and Master_Helmholtzdelivery on his point of view was very immatur, but you show us that the pot and kettle can coexist in the same topic.

I for one, like the rewards. But I'm a sucker for decoration anyway.
Some people take this game way too serious 
I like the new rewards. I'm also one of those that doesn't "expect" some big "payoff" (the "so this is my stinkin' reward for TWO FREAKIN' YEARS!?" attitude; hey you played for those two years so yes you got what you paid for 
).
However, I find myself agreeing with many others that there should have been more choice available for the 24-monthvet reward. A single choice is kinda poor for a two-year vet reward. Even if it was just another holo (a Rebel or neutral themed one) would be fine.
And sure, I also would not mind if it was a goodie like a no-repair vehicle gizmo or something similar. Not something "uber" or "give an unfair advantage compared to newer players" strength; but just a nice little gizmo would be cool. But I don't expect that type of thing.
To summarize: More choice would have been appropriate.
I am a bit dissapointed by this myself. The real reason being, the past rewards gave a choice of rebel/imperial-centric stuff...myself, i'm not going to really cry about it...probably sell it if possible, if not i'll shove it in my house which is more like a diorama than anything useful.
The thing that really strikes me as odd...why do you have to 'claim' the reward when there is no choice involved? Why not just have it appear in your inventory like they did with the holos and paintings? Whatever~

People will keep there account LONGER if they have something that the value in the account!
If you gave out a really cool 2 year reward, then people would be more prone to keep the account
AND if they have only been here for 1 year, they would keep the account for another year because
The 2 year reward WAS a goal for MANY people. Now we see that the goal was not work the time
