Wookiees cannot wear another quest reward item. The Miner's Medallion cannot be worn by Wookiees and is a NO TRADE item so this quest is absolutely useless for a Wookiee to even attempt.
This totally ruined my game play experience for this quest.

Sorry, but Wookiees aren't supposed to wear clothing that is made for everyone else, been like that forever, just like I can't wear Wook, or Ithorian stuff, and Ithorians have some cool looking threads. As for your game being ruined, I thought that it was the experience of doing the quests that made the game fun, sorry if you're so shallow that having a cyber item and not being able to use it ruins your game. I had a Wook for awhile, found out I couldn't wear stuff so I never played him again, we all aren't supposed to be exactly the same, that's a big problem in this game, everyone whines and whines about this and that until the Devs change it to appease the whiners and in doing so they piss off someone else who liked things the way that they were. You can't please al the people all the time and SOE has tried to and the game has suffered for it. Wookies are only supposed to wear Wookiee clothing items, like what they wear on Kashyyyk. I shuddered when I saw the Wookiee in the mining outfit, it looks so, so wrong. You guys get the rifles that noone else can use, or did you forget about that? I'm so tired of people whining about stupid stuff in the game when there are important issues that need to be addressed to make the game more stable and therefore enjoyable, those actually ruin the game, not not being able to wear a pair of frackin' gloves, boots or whateverelse. My two cents, go ahead flame away.
True enough, there are many many items in game that are restricted for use based on gender, or species, or profession.
Non-Master Pistoleers can't use a Repuiblic Blaster, non-Master Riflemen can't use a T-21 (a darn good rifle too). Heck anyone with opposable digits should be able to use a lightsaber even if they can't build one or wear Jedi robes. You wouldn't expect to get Force powers by doing so or be able to EFFECTIVELY use the saber. but even Han could use a lightsaber and the robes are just clothes to a non-Jedi. Your a human? Good luck getting to wear any of the cool Wookiee or Ithorian gear, or wickedly cool Twi'lek headgear. You're stuck with ugly-a$$ hats. You're female? Good luck wearing the Imperial Command Hat despite your rank, or even a Smock...
You make your choice when you start playing. If you want to use items that you currently cannot because of restrictions, change your toon and template accordingly, period. Failing to do so means you choose not to be able to use those items. SOE doesn't stop you from changing out your toon, you do.
Anyone can change their toon at any time to allow you to use items you currently cannot. It's all whether the price for doing so is too high in your mind for you to undergo the process. If the price for not changing is bad enough, then you'll change. If you don't change your toon, then you obviously don't feel all that terrible about it.

I loved the "you made your choice when you started playing" comment.
When I started playing we did not have much in this game. It was the first month . There was nothing in the book that said "Wookiees will not be able to use the good quest items from the third expansion". Hell, we didn't even know if the game would last long enough to get to an expansion.
My issue is not that I can't wear every article of clothing. My issue is that there are quest rewards in this expansion that are geared toward Jedi. My Wookiee Jedi can wear padawan robes, but he can't wear a cloak. This makes no logical sense. None at all. This didn't happen because in the galactic scheme of things Wookiees shouldn't wear clothes. That has nothing to do with it.
This happened because when they designed the quest rewards they used old code and artwork that was already restricted by species -- code for stuff that didn't have any game-play benefit. Well, I don't care about the decorative stuff, but I do care about the stuff that can benefit my character. He should have all the same opportunities as the other Jedi in the game to use this stuff. They either need to tweak the code so he can equip these items, or they need to give him an item he can equip with the same stats and benefits. We know that they can give a reward based on your species -- they give rebel Wooks a bandolier (with storage capability) instead of the orange flight suit as a quest reward. They have the capability ... they were just lazy.
I'll agree with you on the robes, those should be all species, because they are just a big sheet of cloth with sleeves and a hood or pretty close to it. One thing though the bandolier is given out to all pilots, I got one as a Rebel Pilot, an Imperial Pilot and as a Neutral Pilot, there are just different versions for each faction:
Mercenary Bandolier - Rebel
Two-Strap Bandolier - Imperial
Multi-Pocket Bandolier - Neutral
And if you leave a particular faction you can no longer where that bandolier if you are no longer a pilot for the corresponding faction.

WRONG!!!!!!!!!!
This is no longer true. YES when JTL first came out for a short while there were bando's for Rebels. Not anymore. Specifically there were bando's given to Wookiee Rebe;ilots in place of a Helmet (or maybe it was something else? not sure now) for everyone else.
The Mecenary Bandolier is now given out to Neutral Pilots. Not sure about Imp's but I know Rebels no longer get a Bandolier.
hell i just want it more race equality if not cloth give us dreads and collers to put under our armor
the ca restriction is way unfair or am i just rong
just another angry wook

/agreed
wookiees should be able to wear reward loot... or have something comparable... as of yet, I have not seen a reward that only wookiees can wear (?). I havea transdo... and I am faced with the same aspect concerning the miners boots and healing gloves. When I completed the quest for the clone armor... I could wear all those pieces... what is the difference??

I think that is the case, as well. I just think we need to make an issue of it until they tell us that they will fix it.

In actuality, I bet they make amends to this and fix it. I honestly believe it was an over-sight due to existing restrictions in the game play code. I betcha this is fixed in a future patch. One can only hope.
