And this Poster not even get close to a SS propaganda Poster so calm down and stop the panic post

Hey, just be glad it's not a Stormtrooper standing in front of the Shwastika (spelling?) or an Imperial commander with a short round haircut and a square mustache that looks strangely like Hitler.
Besides, the Empire remind me of Nazis, anyway. 
Even the Stormtroopers were named after German Stormtrupens.
But all-in-all, the poster is pretty cool.

Actually, the word sturmtruppen or stormtroopers predates the Nazis. These guys were veteran German troops, armed with the latest weaponry and even body armor in some cases,in WWI who specialized in infiltrating and destroying entrenched positions. Similiar to what combat engineers did in WWII and later. I think the name stuck around through WWII, the phrase "Nazi stormtroopers" is pretty common, but it originated long before that.

i dont see any problem with it. i dont live in europe, so maybe thats partially the reason, but still. its a game. people always talk about immersing themselves in the game, getting more into the role. well, fact of the matter is, the empire is roughly modeled after the nazi party. its a space based ww2 (like others have mentioned) people who choose imperial such as myself, do we choose it becuase we enjoy the idea of nazi'ism? of course not. im an avid imperial, to the core. i went imperial becuase i find the empire more attractive, there technology, discipline, uniforms, etc.. am i racist? by all means no. but do i enjoy roleplaying an imperial? yeah. when i bought this game, i was going to go imperial. no contest. i refused to go rebel. if i wasnt able to go imperial, i probobly wouldnt of bought it. iv never really been attracted to the light side of things, the side people SHOULD go. every mmorpg game iv played iv always been on the "evil" side.
with that said, i think the lighting may look similiar, but his hand signals is black power, nothing to do with nazi'ism. and its the wrong hand anyway. so eh, to some people i guess. i think its fine.

How oddly this may sound.
there was no "Stormtrooper" in the axis armed forces.
you had ranks, that had names that could be similar, like "Sturm Pioneer"(Assault Engineer), "Sturmbannfuhrer"(Assault battallion leader, roughly translated), Sturmartillerie(Assault artillery), Sturmgeschutz(Assault gun). You had the "Sturmmann", wich was a low soldier rank in the waffen, allegemeine and totenkopfverbande SS. but no "stormtrooper".
however, if you look at modern time, you have several units in armed forces around the world, that share the name or meaning.
For instance, in norway you have the "Storm Esquadrons(Assault squadron)", "stormer(Assaulter, meaning soldier in these units)", Storm panservogn(Assault armored vehicle).
And you'll find the same in sweden.

not insane at all , think of the era Lucas grew up in he was at the tail end of WWII, the story origonally has a lot of parody to the nazi's (empire ie. one ruler ss guards, insane maniacle ruler at that , and trying to occupy all planets with his theory) and the rebels would constitute the struggling nations that were fighting against hitlers regime they almost lost if it wasnt for the jedi (whom i parody the U.S) to help bail the countries out of what otherwise would have been a failed war for the good guys.
I know in no way lucas condones what hitler did with all the atrocities but when something that big is part of yer childhood it naturually is gonna show through what one does, not even consciously, or perhaps he wants to remind people that it can happen (maniaqcle leaders trying to maliciosly take over the world through slaughter and crimes) cause as the old saying goes "if not learned from the past , history will be repeated". And in the end who one ....The allies...the good guys.
I had heard someone took offense to that stormtrooper picture (which is good cause he learned from history), but i can almost guarentee it wasnt suppose to look like one of hitlers storm troopers on purpose. ok lol im rambling on now

Actually I'd say the Empire iscloser to the Roman Empire rather than the Nazi's.
Heck, even Palpatine's rise to power issimilarto how Julius Caesar took office as dictator for life (minus the dark force powers andJedibashing).
