The EULA was updated far more recently (late October 2004), and the language from the Holocron seems ambiguous at best.

Straight from a CSR:
Customer service is not going after anyone using the in-game macro system, which used afk or not is perfectly legal. What is a violation, which the EULA is referring to, isthe use of 3rd party programs for unattended game play (and attended for that matter).

You can find the original thread here.
So AFK players *are* protected by the TOS and the EULA, provided they are using the in-game macro system. And trying to interfere with their "game play", such as it is, is considered harassment (as the entertainers have been warned several times).

I'm not a fan of the afk entertainers (and will listen/watch live players if possible, and only tip live players), but please explain how an afk entertainer denies access to live entertainers.

So long as afk entertainer bots are allowed to deny access to content to live entertainersI fully support the right of combat bots to deny access to content to live combatants. Go afk farm bots go!
I asked for an explanation - not to be one-starred
I'm for anything that makes the game better - so please tell me how an afk can keep me from seeing a live entertainer, especially since I make it a point to watch/listen/tip live players.

And lets not kid ourselves here. 99% of those afk macro looters arent there because they need more tapes or credits. They're doing one thing...selling those tapes for credits and then selling those credits on E-Bay. Everyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves.
Exactly.
And solution. Behold! krayt graveyard. On my server onlya month ago premiums were going 5mil b/o and flawless around 10mil. Todayall well-known krayt-stealers of bloodfin cannot sell it even for 2 mil. Just make this tapes not so rare drop (why they have to be rare in the end?), prices will go down quickly and it will be complete waste of time for e-bay afk hunters. easy and quick. After kryats I have some hope.
(instanced thing is also great idea, but I suspect it must be very hard to programm each loot dungeon we have in the game as such....too late)

So how bout this, instead of instancing every dungeon, or having a timer as some have suggested, make the "boss" in each cave/dungeon trigger the boot. Afterall that is supposed to be the point of these things, some fun going through them and getting to the end. If you kill the "head guy" at the end such as Nyax, Aakuan Champion, Acklay, Nightsister Elder (not that you could AFK her), you would get booted from the POI because you finished it. This takes care of the AFK looters, if someone wants to actually be at the keyboard and keep running down for hours on end then I have no problem with that as long as they are there.
