Thread: Why does it seem like nothing's dropping anymore and there's nothing else to do?
Message Edited by enyhr on 09-02-2005 08:32 AM
You think there is nothing for you to do?
Go to the tempest Galaxie, Corellia. Travel to the City of Gold Beach, proceed to coords -2000 -2000 Corellia. Close by there is a formation of 6 houses. They form a museum of sorts. If you have everything in all 6 of those houses, I will grant you that you might be running out of things to do. But I have gotten everything in all 6 of those houses, since they are all mine. and there is still MUCH I have left to do.
Holy cow I never even noticed your closing paragraph

I'm a loot hunter, or loot ----, since I started playing this game. I like to go out and kill high level NPC's or doing long quests & missions and then be handsomly rewarded for my efforts. I'm not really into PVP. I get bored easily since the players don't drop anything after a long and grueling duel, it's just not my thing. I've completed my Jedi template and it seems like there's nothing left for me to do. I don't even want to think about grinding my alt into a Jedi...I don't even want to think about grinding anymore...I hate the word grind now. What I previously enjoyed doing is either not availabe anymore or simply not fun anymore.
Now if you're a loot hunter (yes), which is someone that plays the game in search of those rare and expensive items and someone that is not into PVP(yes) (brief description of my gameplay)...what would you do if you were in my situation? Now I know I will get positive posts that will add onto my frustration with their related experiences, as well as negative ones that will most likely insult me, and even childish remarks or comments that are irrelevant to this post. That's fine, everyone's entitled to their opinion. I just don't know what to do anymore whenever I'm logging on the game and I'm staring at a shot of the back of an Imperial Interceptor with a Star Destroyer in the background, while waiting for the lime green notches to finish the circle during the blue loading screen. I don't know, it seems like wishing for a good loot drop is like wishing for a bug to actually be fixed...will it ever happen???
You seem to be similar to me. I am a loot hound. I go for weapons, trophies, foods, vet rewards, loot kit items, art, paintings, sculptures, crystals, pearls, armor, holograms, "junk" and various other items. As I said before, check out my collection on Tempest. After seeing all that, remember, I still have a lot left to do. So ultimately it is all about perspective. I don't camp stuff for loot to sell, so there is always something else for me. I also run a business on the side which earns me between 1 and 20 million a day (about 2-4 hours of play)
As for you time availability, 10pm - 1am EST seems like it is the bussiest time on Tempest. Maybe you're jsut in the wrong galaxy.
This game is so boring now. I used to love to hunt for loot, I still do. and do it in other games because this one is starting toget so bad. I cant believe how focused the swg developement team is on adding new content while the whole original game is falling apart at the seems. I'm not even going to add the list of things that used to drop and dont anymore, because others have been posting a lot, but it seems only BH's get to get good loot now. What is a full template suppossed to do now? no loot to get, no frs, no caves drop anything good. well pvp? yep thats what I do, but I dont know how one little thing in a game that is so vast will keep my interest for that long, exspecialy when there are so many games out there. For all of you that have only been playing for like 6 months or so,,,,, this game used to be pretty fun

Trust me, it'll keep you busy for a while until they fix something thats worth leaving the bunker for.

I can do that alone? Where do I go? I'm not too familiar with the DWB.
tlak to Boba at Jabba's themepark.
And no, bring some friends. I mean I'm talking like CL 88-92 mobs.

Gorax, Acklay, Krayts, Giant Dune Kimogilas, Peko Peko Albatrosses, Necrosis
all of those are worth hunting for loot which can sell well.
There are also numerous quests you can do for weapons and rewards which sell for lots of money, and many unique weapons which can only be looted if you look in certain places and kill specific MOBs. If you don't know what weapons I speak of, or where they can be obtained, then you obviously have a lot more content to explore in this game. And if you can't take the really tough loot droppers I mentioned earlier, then there is obviously room in which you should improve, because with the exception of Necrosis, I have managed to kill every one of those above creatures by myself.
As for content, if you are unfamiliar with EU (expanded universe) then I could see why you think there isn't that much content. Having read over 120 Star Wars novels & childrens books, and over 300 Star Wars Comic Books (some in graphic novel form, some not) I can tell you that there is a WEALTH of Star Wars content in this game that delves FAR beyond the mere 3 books that the movies cover.

I, for one, appreciate what you are saying here but the man is just so totally right. I also see your statements. As an avid SW EU reader I see all kinds of things most people never think of. I saw them 2 years ago too. The only difference was that back then I got to kill something and look at the loot like it might be worth something.
