Thread: What's the droprate on elders?

Over the past week of hunting elders myself and my tank friend have looted the following(junk not displayed):
1 897dmg LVA
1 658dmg LVA
7 Dot Pikes
9 Premium Crystals
3 Attachments Above 20+(All broken /sigh)
2 Attachments above 15+
Exceptional NS Lance with almost base stats(Trophy Only)
Been a good week, on average we knocked out 20-25 elders per buff session, doing 1 Buff session per day.

i have a question for people who have looted lots of attachments from elders . have most of the attachments dropped during the same time of day ?

i have been playing swg since launch and my personal experience with looting and other " luck" related things such as tuneing crystals / pearls is that the time of day matters a lot . anyone else also experienced this ?

Well, the attachments can be found down lower in the NS/SMC foodchain as well.
I recently picked up a +6 Bezerk / +6 Counterattack CA from an NS Initiate
by and large, it's credits; maybe crystals, and more leathers than you can stick a shake at

Now that my toon can handle it, I've only recently expericnced the joys of killing NS and SMC.I have looted some average stuff and a few damage crystals. I haven't had the crystals examined so I don't know their quality. Are the looted NS armor sements/shards worthwhile to keep? I'm really getting sick of trying to sellstuff, and if it's not worth it, I'd just as soon destroy them along with the other junk.

yup, never gotten good loot from an elder with my friend (im tank lol) i think the best thing weve gotten was a 75% 143 actiom fire lva lol... We get better loot from SMC, last night he looted a 298 pot 96% pot over 8k uses lance, but i wasnt there either

its differnet for everyone. but i believe that your character is "lucky" on certain days. i have looted a lot of my attachments on friday/saturday/sunday.
during some stretches, no matter HOW many i killed, nothing...
i think theres like a "check mark" by your name so to speak, and if its checked, you have the possibility and chance to loot something. but that checkmark isnt always checked, only certain days/times. after killing elders for a year or so, that is my feeling.

spellweavers, sentinels and protectors are not bad to kill. i have gotten more exceptionals off them than elders. but the draw for me, is looting +25's. seeing that you have looted a "clothing attachment" from an elder...is a rush.
as for a waste of time...2.5 mintues for an elder, maybe 30 seconds for a protector. its not a huge difference. and as for armor, depends on your setup. ADK enough pieces and armor isnt even in the question.

only nighsister layers i dont delete are the ones that are 7% or higher base . with shards i only keep them if the mind encumbrance is better than -25 .
regarding damage crystals you can get a good idea of their quality based on the mob that dropped it .
premium = nighsister elder
quality = protectors and spell weavers
good = sentinals , stalkers
fair = nighsister initiates
i am not sure if rangers and outcasts drop fair , good or maybe both .

He was refering to NS sentinels not the Jedi Sentinels at the enclaves ...and don't bother with them if your lucky you mght get a locked container or 793 credits like we did

well u cant pinpoint the droprate of good wepons but u can pinpoint a certain wepons dr lol i dont have the time or patience to find out the droprate

I have seriously wondered the same thing. The other day I was doing tremendous unarmed damage to NS and other NPCs, and getting pretty decent loot. It's not usually the case. Usually my damage against NS is like a few hundered a pop, but I was hitting in the 1000s. There do seem to be days that your toon just blows - you fight like crap or can't loot anything. I wonder if the FS Luck skill would have an affect on how well you fight or loot?
