Thread: What's the droprate on elders?
How often do good weapons/attachments drop? One every 10 elders, every 50 elders, every 100 elders?
I've killed 32 now without getting anything useful, i'm wondering if i should keep hunting them...
100 elders killed will get you at least one high stat, or high damage, or high dot weapon. or an attachment.
Wether that item you loot is usefull or broken mods is another question.
Case in point, The only excpetional item I ever looted from an Elder was a Nightsister Lance with standard DOT and about 100 more dmage than average. (in other words total garbage)
Ive killed about 1-2k elders over the years.
Ive gotten one plate with crap stats, and one excpetional weapon with even crappier stats.

Yes they do drop attachments.
First I will comment on the original post. I do not think that there is a true "droprate" on elders. It is all the hot and cold spells that they go through. I have hunted them for over a year probably, and I can say that there really is no rate, only patterns. When you get hot, you start to loot stuff like "blaster rifle barrels", "chemical release duration mechs", white un-modded clothing etc. I will tell my friends "im about to loot something cool" and IF i keep at it, I do.
Getting nice elder loot isextremely rewarding, but not very common. As for ratios, I dont think they are any, as stated above. On average, I would say that I kill 20-30+ elders per buff session. Some days I go good, some days its just plain aweful. Hunting elders IS not a constantly rewarding task.
Overall i've killed thousands upon thousands of elders. Exceptional weapons...only 3. a 319 mind fire SG82 rifle, and 2 aweful NS lances.
As for clothing attachements/modded clothing items, I can 100% confirm that they are indeed dropping again, and it almost seems as though the drop rate has been upped slightly.
In the past 7 days, I have looted the following off Elders:
- +25 Combat Medicine Experimenation / +18 defense vs. Intimidate / +11 weapon assembly bandolier
- +20 Clothing Repair / +17 defense vs Intimidate / +some lame mod bandolier
- +25 defense vs. intimidate clothing attachment
- +25 wound treatment / +20 food assembly clothing attachment
- +25 Polearm Damage / + 20 Instrument Assembly belt
- +25 Taking cover Armor Attachment
All are on display in my Naritus House located at 290 -5670 coronet, corellia for anyone who has any doubts about what I've looted overtime.
This is in the past week. I am almost in awe, because of a few things. Previously, before they altered ANY droprates, I would guess maybe 1 item per week, sometimes I'd go 2 weeks between looting +25's. I had not really gotten a good chance to test the new rates, till lately. They introduced the new rates when Phaze 3 of the village was live. Phaze 3 totally messes up all spawns, because of the #1. base spawns, and #2 random sith thug/outlaw/shadow spawns. Then when phaze 4 rolled around, the had broken the drop rates on Elders. So now with a new phaze, and the "nightsisters and dragons drop pearls/crystals" I have been out, doing what I do best and that is to kill Elders.
