To me, therich get richer... for people who can pay 7-20 mil per anti-decay items they get uber weapons and armor that never decay. There is no balance in game then. Why would any new player want to play against a few that have everything with no worries.

I would have rather seen a limit on anti-decay items or a uses # for them. Like you could protect an item for 10 to 25 times it's normal vlaue. It's just a thought.

Yes i have to agree with you or they should have made it for clothing only (unlimited). Or simply non-tradable like the previous vet. rewards, that would have been the best way to go i think. 1 anti-decay kit per toon period!

I would like to hear from some Jedi that have tried this with a saber, if it can protect the crystals or pearls or if anyone has tried it on a pearl or crystal alone. If I had to guess I would think it will not work but it would be nice it it did. I am not a Jedi yet but I am saving my 2 anti-decay just in case.

Edit:

I just spoke to a Jedi in game and he confirmed it does work on Sabers, he said and I quote "While the saber will not decay if you put the saber in the anti-decay device it will protect the crystals from decaying." I would assume this would protect any item in the saber including pearls. If this holds up to be true it is a wicked awsome reward.

Two obvious things come to mind. First, a PSG seems like the ideal option for one of these, is it intended that the decay kit would create a neverending PSG?

Second, if we put it on say a DE-10 and then put on a power up, does that mess with the anti-decay feature?

The way I am reading things now is that I drop this on a nice IMP PSG and have one with max condition forever. Then I put one in a weapon and always use power ups because while the power up may expire, it does not touch the weapon's condition.

Anybody have any actual experience with these things? Thanks.

It doesn't work right now, it should work after tomorrow's hotfix.

The kit gets used on the saber hilt. From that point, decay is "negated" for any crystals/pearls inside it. Crystals can be swapped in/out as desired, any contained inside the hilt (whether or not they were there to begin with) won't decay. The same "destroy weapon to get kit back" functionality is in place for sabers.

Details are in a thread Tiggs started over in the Jedi forum.
