Energy resistance is probably more important because you just kite the ones with kinetic damage. Just make sure you have decent kinetic resist on your recon armor.

I am a Master Force Defender/LightSaber Master, and have kept an accurate count of how many Black Sun guys I've killed on Yavin in the last week.

I have only looted Bounty Hunter armor pieces. Out of the 122 Black Sun Thugs/Assassins/Guards/etc. that I have killed, I have only looted FIVE (5) pieces.

Man, is this stuff hard to get. They are so tough. I can tank 2 at a time, but 3 is super hard, and if 4 agro me, I run. I like to keep my doc alt behind me (I have 2 computers, linked by a KVM switch so I can toggle between the 2), constantly healing me, and I usea Combat Droid as well to help put damage on them.

I'm surprised- I was expecting to loot some Jetpack parts. Anyone know if Black Sun guys drop this at all in random spawns? I'm guessing it might only be in the Death Watch Bunker now.

Where is the exact waypoint of these?

They are completely random spawns in northwest Yavin. They can be anywhere. And just because one finds them at a certain spot, does not mean they will be spawning there ever again.

I've heard they spawn elsewhere too, like just a few hundred meters east of the Imperial Prison, Dathomir.

Best way to quickly scan for them is to drive a swoop (never an AV-21 or BARC, b/c Black Suns kill vehicles fast) in a grid pattern, with your Radar turned to 256m, while the 'Con' option is checked off on the Radar. When you see them, they will be the only red agro enemies that have a red circle around them. This may only become apparent after you almost drive past them. (It seems to take a few seconds for them to spawn when driving Swoop speed through the forest.

Important, always Store your bike before engaging them. And, bring lots of extra vehicles just in case

I know of a person than killed 17,000 black sun in pursuit of a BS Ace helmet but nothing. I'm speaking of the space ones. He was pretty pissed when another guildy got it killing like 500 or less.

You can also find them randomly spawned around the Imperial Prison on Dathomir. I like hunting them there because I can find the Black Suns while I run missions from the Imperial mission terminal at the prison.

it sounds like your trying to kill more than one at a time
with mobs that high in level your only chance is to take them one at a time

Nope, thats through pulling them 1 at a time by staying max distance away

1. Use good stimpacks.

2. Kite the ones that use melee attacks.

3. The ones with ranged attacks almost always use an AOE attack. If you can stand next to something that won't aggro you first, it will go after the Black Sun.

4. Use a combat droid

5. Make sure your armor isn't broken and you didn't get cybernetics when you clone.

6. If you do draw aggro on more than one Black Sun, rather than abandoning the fight, try to lose aggro on one and keep the other.

7. Get a better PSG.

I wanna say its totaly random. i havent killed but maybe 30 of these things since i took interest in them. and i got 3 BH armor drops. and the last 10 or so i killed had nothing, so i got 3 drops in less than 20 kills. leads me to think you cant ralley count ona drop rate system.

They drop randomly, but there is probably a rate involved, more along the lines of a slot machine rather than every fifth one drops armor.
