well SO rangers are "easy" i guess. Man I need to train. Ive never really been a strong fighter. Ive always been happy killing gaping recluse spiders or Baz Nitches but now things are gonna change. I want to go after the high end MOBS so which of these 3 profs should I take in:

Pikeman

Fencer

Tka

any advice from a better fighter is always appreciated.

Thanks

Right now, if you want to be a Player vs. Enemy professional, go Master Brawler/Master Swordsman/Pike 0040/Fencer 0440 and whatever tkm you want to do with the rest of your skill points. Get yourself speed capped for swords (95 speed). If you do the melee speed quest at the village, you will only need +3 in skill tapes or attatchments to get there. Keep your enemies intimidated at all times, and focus on one pool. If you don't want to be a swordsman, master a melee profession (or rifles) and get speed capped. Wear 80% armor, and always be buffed, body and mind, then eat the best foods for the situation - usually some brandy and an ahrisa or two. The key to combat is not to screw around. Decide on a profession, and become a professional. Screwing around is all right in the minor leagues (meat lumps and faction npc's) but if you want to fight in the big leagues, you need to devote yourself to high defence, and damage output.

I think the reason you had such a hard time is because Rangers are only vulnerable to Kinetic and Blast damage. Being a Rifleman, you do not have a weapon that does either type of damage. Even though your combat log was saying you were hitting for x amount of damage, the Ranger was repeling it all. You can thank whatever pet(s) you were using, because they soloed the Ranger for you. This is the reason it took you so long.

I believe you are thinking of stalkers. Rangers are energy/blast/keneticif i remember right (i'm a swordsman, so i don't really know/care )

I believe you are right. I stand corrected.

a lousy NS lance. Ive seeen the same one for sale on vendors for 9k. I cant believe that after all that work that was all I got. It took quite a while for me to kill that Ranger, all the while sustaining massive amounts of dmg myself.

WHats the best thing anyone here has looted of a nightsister ranger? Just curious. Are they worth all that work?

Try killing an elder and getting nothing but a stupid lance. Now that is bound to tighten your jaws.
